Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Semifinal #1: Heard v. Hoge

I don't know about you, but I'm still exhausted from last night's thriller in Stillwater. We'll try to enjoy it for what it was - a classic - and move on.

What better way to move on then to move forward with our BON Emenies of the Nation tournament?

Our first semifinal features two runaway winners from the first round - and deservedly so. Matt Leinart's kind of a douchebag, but he's not a true enemy of this fanbase anymore. Andre Ware and Gary Thorne, thoroughly obnoxious as they were, can't hold a candle to Kellen Heard.

And so we get our first two semifinalists: Heard and Merril Hoge.

Heard's and Hoge's crimes against the nation are well-documented. Heard blindsided our quarterback well after a whistle. Merril Hoge continues to hate the best football player any of us has ever known. Kellen, Merril: we hate you.

But who do you hate more?

Once more, special thanks to our intern for putting together the video.

Very Very Very hard to decide
At first I thought Hoge would be a runaway winner in this one... but that was before I saw the video put up by y'all.... Damn Heard... how un-classy was THAT... is that what they teach them all down in agroland... no wonder they suck on the gridiron and only come to life after the whistle has been blown. But then again, you have Hoge on the other side. I have followed Hoge's comments about Saint Vince since before the draft, and even though I had my doubts about his highness (Vince), I cant believe how Hoge can still keep living in that fool's paradise of his and not change his position.

Had to go with Heard
IMHO:
Hoge is just a plain idiot.
Heard's deal was intentional. And it was a shot at The Man....had to vote the Aggie...

You guys really made this a hard choice.
On one hand Hoge seems to hate everything that is even remotely related to VY which to me includes the Longhorns and the fans.  Thats a stretch i know.

On the other hand Heard is nothing but a pure thug in a football uniform.  It wasnt enough that the ags were winning the football game and it also wasnt like Colt was killing the ag defense and taking him out would help them.

Decisions decisions decisions......

Enemy
It's about being Enemy of the Nation, right?  While Hodge is an assclown, Heard is a definite ENEMY.  Screw him.

These two should have met...
in the finals.  Seeding error, imo.

You're Right
This should have been the final!!!  But as happens in brackets the "final" is sometimes played before the final

My thought process is
if I ended up drunk in The Bar of No Real Life Repercussions, who would I smack around first?

Heard fits the bill.

NB: There is a flaw with this method which comes up for the next round of voting: Aggies and Sooners are equally deserving of getting clocked.

So take that.

Got to be Heard
Even if it was before the whistle, which it was not, Heard is not trying to make a block or even a clean hit, he tackles Colt from behind.  There is no excuse for that.  Hodge is stubborn idiot, but has not gotten into the realm of malicious behavior yet.

Tough decisions
On the one hand, Hoge is a classic douche-bag who has nothing better to do than hate on our savior, VY.

However, as aggrevating as it is to hear Massengill Hoge diss our man Vince, it is true VY has moved on to greener pastures and is now in the PAST.  With that in mind, Heard could have really done damage to our FUTURE with that shot on Colt.  I'm all for reliving the glory days of VY until we reach the mountaintop again, but Heard gets my vote - if for no other reason than to keep his name floating around as long as possible so nobody forgets him.  I hope to see him get his fat, thug ass cracked multiple times by our line next year in the no-man's land that is College Station.

Interesting question
Should Heard and Peterson advance, an intersting question arises: Which is worse, low-class bad sportsmanship in the heat of an emotional game, or attempting to glorify those actions?

My first inclination is to say Heard, but keep in mind that Pederson thought about it long enough to write an entire article, while Heard was wrapped up in the emotion of the game.  No excuse for what he did, of course, but still...

Gotta go with Heard
What Heard did was mallicous. It was intentional and dirty. I missed the game but i bet he was looking for a shot the whole game.

Hoge is a joke. He is makeing himself look like a clown on national TV. My favorite part was Jaws' look after Hoge said that the Titans were "hiding him and not higlighting him". I betting Hoge is a racist and doesn't like black qbs because that is the only plausible explanantion.

Remember before the draft how he said Kellen Clemens was going to be good.

Merril buddy you have had to many concussions.

I hope someone knocks the living shit of Heard like a big block. A clean hit.

Vince Young is a beast.

I wonder...
How much money does Jaworski throw back to ESPN to keep Hoge sitting next to him. Jaworski's a pretty solid announcer but he has a James Earl Jones-type power in his voice next to a meathead arsehat like Hoge.

Heard's shot was monumentally stupid and cheap, but that's happened a hundred times before. Hoge's continued failure to admit that he even MIGHT be wrong is staggering. I'm not a Horn fan, so I'll not vote, but I urge you to single out Hoge for the greater good.

Merril Hoge
is just a stupid monkey which I really enjoy watching  :) He is harmless, he is just stupid.  But he is indeed an enemy of nation. On the other hand, Heard has hurt our QB.  He has made one very bad decision on the heat of the moment.  I don't consider him really an "enemy of nation".

In conclusion: I hate Heard more, but Hoge wins my vote for "enemy of nation".
