Marshall
Marshall has a really good chance of beating WVU today with a decent run D and a great QB.
Marshall leads 10-6 on ESPN 2
Whoops!
Somebody at KVUE forgot to flip a switch or something - the Miami/OU game didn't start in HD.
Also, Gino Torretta looks OLD.

Toby Keith
Is there anything more disgusting than hearing Toby Keith introduce the OU starters?
BS TD
Both of Kelley's feet are outside the goal line when ball is swiped out of his hand. Very close. OU gets early break at home.
He was in
And OU actually is looking pretty darn good right now, though it's early. Aggies go to Miami in a few weeks
Withdrawal
Withdrawal on OU looking good. At least their punting unit
Marshall settling
Marshall settling for end of the half field goal. Learn from Boise St and App St. You have to go for the throat.
I think he was their 5th (or worse) choice
Miami has no money and their facilities are crap. It's not the most attractive landing spot for a coach.

Miami's Kickers Struggling
Two poor, short punts and a very short and poorly covered kickoff. Wind?
I can't watch this game with the volume on
boomer sooner every 3 seconds makes me ill.
RUN THE DAMN FOOTBALL
IS ANYONE ELSE completely baffled as to why Miami isn't running the ball more??
in other games
nebraska doesn't look so hot against a VERY mediocre wake forest team playing without it's starting QB.
3-3 in the second quarter.
AW
the wind has to be doing something. miami's kicks suck and OU's kicker keeps kicking them out of the endzone from the 30.
and Miami's corners are..
6-0 and 6-1. My God this would be a crucifixion for the Tweedles.
Are half of OU Cheerleaders from Texas too?
Sure doesn't look that way.
for the second time
nebraska gets down to the WF 5 or so and can't punch it in. kicks another 22-yard FG and leads 6-3. terrible game.
I don't feel like
we're in this to see if OU wins. We're trying to see how good they are. Ou is going to win this game.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 8, 2007 12:05 PM CDT up reply actions
Why is OU
the only team in the country that can go from mediocrity to best-team-in-the-country overnight?
The rest of us have to struggle for years improving bit by bit until we reach that zenith of college football perfection. But OU has done this unexpectedly twice in one decade.
Miami might be terrible
but OU looks sharp, confident, and energetic.
I think horn fans might have to go through most of this season with our eyes closed and our fingers in our ears screaming LA LA LA LA LA LA!!!!

West Virginia
They are now down 16-13 to Marshall (who Miami beat last week.
wake scores a TD
leads nebraska 10-6. nebraska trying to undo big 12 goodwill the ou is accumulating.
Miami needs to..
recruit some offense. They have the RB's down and the entire Defense. Whens the last time a QB you've heard of committed to Miami though? Big task on Randy Shannon's shoulders.
A little unfair
Kyle Wright was supposed to be the next great UM quarterback but have never played to his potential. He is currently backing up Freeman. That says a lot about how poorly he has been playing.
But you are right, Miami has a long way to go before returning to being a national player.
Kirby Freeman is spectacularly bad.
say what you will about Greg Davis, but he can develp QBs.
by cortexas on Sep 8, 2007 12:15 PM CDT reply actions
Quit it with all the..
pessimism. This is a Miami team with no qb and they obviously look very rattled. You can't say OU will destroy us, we had one bad game. Didn't OU have ONE bad game at the beginning of last year too?
Do I really want to know
what a "fuck lion" is?
I try to get excited when Miami does something good, but they just have nothing on offense. Dammit.
by sambo on Sep 8, 2007 12:18 PM CDT reply actions
You MUST know what a fuck lion is
please cancel your plans for the next few days and proceed to EDSBS and read everything.
It will change your life.
Go Temple!
at least they've got Bill Cosby going for them. What's Buffalo ever done?
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 8, 2007 12:21 PM CDT up reply actions
OU is getting blown up on kick coverage
it's like Miami isn't trying to return kicks, they're just poaching for knockouts on unsuspecting sooners.
by cortexas on Sep 8, 2007 12:24 PM CDT reply actions
Nevada leads Northwestern
So the team Miami crushed last week is playing WVa pretty tough.
Nebraska is struggling, and the team they crushed last week is beating a big10 team.
Ohio St. is struggling with Akron.
Strange year.
THis sets up for the BON gameplan
use the pass to set up our run. For sure, against ou where their too good to run on without hitting some passes down field first.
Particularly in the redzone
Sweed could have a field day against these guys if he gets some fades thrown at him.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 8, 2007 12:41 PM CDT up reply actions
I can't believe I'm
actually cheering for the U. Lesser of two evils I guess.
Imagine October 6th
Texas trying to punch it in from the two.
why run an option ....
with a 6'5" QB who can't run.
run a fucking QB sneak.

All Things Considered
Not a bad half for Miami. It could have been a lot worse. Great change to go to Wright and ballsy call on the fake field goal. As long as OU doesn't score in the next min, Shannon will be pleased to just be down 21-10.
wow will the big east get throttled
in their bcs game...between the louisville d and the west virginia d...good lord.
when they play each other the over/under for the game will be 150
Marshall just had possesion of the ball
down by only 4 in the 4th quarter.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 8, 2007 12:50 PM CDT up reply actions
honestly...
wvu has to drop in the polls regardless, right?
Meh
I thought the same thing during the first few years of USC's dynasty, when they kept winning by three points every single week and had no defense whatsoever, but the voters never seemed to care.
Or Ohio St
When they won the national championship. I kept on thinking they were going to get destroyed by someone, but they just kept on winning.
this year may be different
voters are more than happy to vote down crappy performances...we went down last week and we weren't even on tv. after the louisville/wvu sieve-like performances both on national tv, surely they'll go down a bit.
noel devine
just scored a TD. i didn't know he qualified academically.....although it is west virginia....
why isnt mcconaughey there?
yers all kners...thaaaaaaay errrrrrr maysharl.
well that sucks
if they can't beat that patsy it's gonna make our conf look like slop.
And the USC game is going to suck
I'll bet gameday will be there, and I also bet the teams will be separated by at least 28 points at the end of the day.
keller has a really weird arm motion
it looks like he sidearm shotputs every throw. never noticed that while he was at az st.
Wright..
looks good. Just a completely different attitude out of the QB position. good decision making and confidence.
wake forest loves it some nfl films
that's like the 80th time they've played that.
Miami adjustments
Excellent adjustments since the first quarter for Miami. Great understanding of what OU's trying to do with Bradford.
anyone notice the brokeback mountaineer shirts?
that marshall's wearing? they cut away from that shit quick.
dude they live in w. virginia
what'd you expect?
terrible sequence there for miami
bonehead play then a quick td.
has that stretch run worked all day?
why does miami keep going to the dumpster for that
hey k state fans...
don't forget your power towel...

ye olde double reverse
with a nasty hold that wasn't called on wake.
why did OU
just run a trick play with an 18-point lead? and how the hell was there not 1 miami player within 30 yards of the receiver? have they never seen a reverse-pass before?
miami finally breaks a lng run
and some idiotic miami WR blocks an OU player in the back after the RB was already past him.
oh man oh man
nebraska's live caved in and keller is starting to look like kurt warner circa stint with ny giants.
So Far
Bradfor looks good
Keller looks awful
McGee up soon
keller turns the ball over
on a hybrid interception/fumble (impossible to tell which, called an interception).
Ok
Keller is officially the worst QB I've ever seen....today.
That was terrible. Neb is in trouble now.
Nebraska QBs
Has Nebraska recruited any good QBs in the last couple years? Are there going to be calls to play the backup?
NC St. running all over BC
this college football schizophrenia is making me more confident about tonight's game.
Nobody is playing the way they did last week.
if anyone cares
davydenko just broke federer to start their match. worth peeking at over the next few hours.
actually
davydenko has won 8 of the first 9 points. federer looks terrible. never thought i'd say that.
okay, back to football.
holy crap!
Is someone talking about tennis? I thought I was the only one watching 3 football games and the tennis at the same time.
Don't worry, Roger will turn back into Roger soon enough.
wow.
questionable no call. definitely contact, but was it catchable?
regardless, nebraska has looked terrible most of this game. WF is not a good team.
For those who get the 10 different Big 10 Games
Nevada just went up against Northwestern. Good game, plus Nevada's offense is interesting to watch.
a serious boomer sooner
yikes.
that score is eerily similar to some bad Red River memories.
What up Wiggo, Bean and whoever else is on here. What game are you watching now?
There are so many games televised now
that we can't hope for good commentary on all of them. There simply aren't 60 good commentators around. Not by a longshot.
Very true
Although I do blame the producers and executives who don't actively search harder for talent.
Recycling guys we know are annoying is frustrating.
How the heck did OU score 51 points?
D. Murray 15 for 64
A. Patrick 7 for 47
S. Bradford 19/25 for 205
What was OU's average starting field position? The Miami 25?
BTW, if Bradford keeps up this pace, Colt's Freshman TD record is sooooo history.
Its on Fox Sports NW
I get all of the Fox channels with Direct TV. All of the other affiliates are showing A&M, but NW is showing BSU-UW.
i think jake locker
might be a west-coast version of stephen mcgee.
good runner, fast, etc. can't complete a pass to save his life.
Yeah
that's a lot of momentum, going 18 yds at 280 pounds, anybody remember the formula for momentum?
thought I remembered there was a formula for it
but its been about 11 years since high school physics.
aTm INT
And Lane is rumbling again... Could be a long day for the Bulldogs.

REALLY bizarre

Washington scores
they're up 24-7.
Michigan looks like a lame duck. That field goal hitting the upright pretty much sums up the Wolverines right now.
Oregon scores another TD
on a 4th down run by stewart. gutsy call worked. they didn't go for another 2-point conversion though. what's the matter belotti? quot acting like a pansy and go for 2 every time.
michigan lining up for a FG
gets a delay of game that pushes them out of FG range. everything is going wrong.
aTm recovers a fumble
... on the FSU 37, then McGee scramble gets the Aggies into the red zone.
aTm TD
... on a PASS PLAY, believe it or not.
17-0 aTm

I'm considering living oversees
but the prospect of missing multiple college football seasons is daunting.
oregon
earlier in the game ran a statue of liberty. so just now they ran a fake statue of liberty and the QB kept the ball. with every michigan player thinking they were geniuses for blowing up the statue of liberty, dixon waltzed in for another TD. 25-7
You think Hart and Henne
... are regretting staying for their Senior year?
by patienthornsfan on Sep 8, 2007 4:05 PM CDT up reply actions
oregon
throws for yet another TD after a quick 3 and out for michigan. 32-7 oregon. the ducks have nearly 400 yards of offense in the first half.
Do you think Carr could be fired
in the middle of the season? Or is this just so bad that we're past the point of outrage?
Washington and Oregon
..are destroying what was a solid 12-team parlay..
by the12thManchild on Sep 8, 2007 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
michigan throws
a terrible fade to the endzone on 4th down and it's incomplete as the half ends. fans rightfully boo.
Cal barely hangs on
34-28, over Colorado State. Will they drop a notch or two in the rankings? I mean, CSU is no Arkansas State, but they did lose to Colorado for chrissakes.
Cal
has no defense.
I know that shocks you, right?
But they're Pac-10. The only Pac -10 team with a great defense is USC. I thought OSU would have one, then I watched them destroy themselves on Thursday night.

by patienthornsfan on Sep 8, 2007 5:25 PM CDT up reply actions
i've noticed that this year
at the end of a quarter, the gamecast records the just-ended quarter's scoring as the scoring for both that quarter and the upcoming quarter. it's a glitch.
Gamecast?
I think Gamecast screws up at end of quarters
Obviously!
I think it replicates the score from the previous quarter into the next, cuz it added 14 and 3 to the respective scores. Nice little bug, that. Must have given an Aggy fan or two a heart attack.

McGee 11 of 20 for 68??

michigan with a nice goal-line stand
stops oregon on 4th and inches and the Defense celebrates like they just won the national championship.
meanwhile, michigan still down 39-7.
So is Notre Dame
They intercept Morelli and score a TD, but their offense is woeful. And they've just let PSU tie the game with a punt return for a TD.
dodge on A&M
just got away with a vicious facemask that the officials inexplicably missed considering it was worthy of a personal foul and was on the tackle of the ballcarrier.
cheaters.
Run out the damn clock
C'mon A&M. Finish this off.
- We don't need you losing to Fresno.
- We don't want your game getting in the way of the start of ours.
