Austin Finalist to host 2014-2017 X-Games.

Our fair city has had it's fair share of attention due to the new Circuit of the Americas these days, here's one more. Austin has been declared a finalist for the Summer X Games. The other three cities are Chicagoland Maximum Security Municipality, Charlotte in one of the Carolinas, and, Detroit Murder City. Watch out for Flying Tomatoes to hit Austin very soon.

Texas vs Arkansas 1969 documentary world premiere

The documentary on the 1969 showdown between the University of Texas and Arkansas, "The Big Shootout: The Life and Times of 1969" will have its world premiere on April 13 at the Texas Theater as part of the Dallas Film Festival. Mike Looney and George Francisco's film chronicles this original "game of the century" and features interviews with the late Longhorn coach Darrell Royal.
