Report: David Ash Has Fractured Left Wrist

Tim Heitman-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Orangebloods.com is reporting that the Texas starting quarterback suffered the injury everyone feared he did at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday.

Things went from bad to worse in the second half of Oklahoma's beatdown of Texas on Saturday when starting quarterback David Ash went down with what appeared to be a significant lest wrist injury as he tried to brace himself while falling.

So while the school had not released an official injury report as of early Sunday evening, Orangebloods.com has the latest on the injury, according to sources:

The length of his recovery time depends on the severity of the fracture, with a top end of several months, though it's conceivable that he could return to action prior to full recovery by wearing a cast on that non-throwing hand, depending on his ability to protect the football in the pocket and to handle it on running plays.

For now, if the report is true, the quarterback moving forward, for one week or possibly several, will be Case McCoy, who showed well at the end of the game with a couple scores operating the Texas first-team offense against the Oklahoma second-team defense.
