Texas Longhorns Injury Update: Malcolm Brown, Jordan Hicks, Others Ruled Out

Mark D. Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The Longhorns will once again be without their best running back and best linebacker against the Bears on Saturday.

If it wasn't official before, it is now -- the Texas Longhorns are the walking wounded after the Friday injury report revealed that sophomore running back Malcolm Brown and junior linebacker Jordan Hicks will once again miss another week of action.

Brown has been out since the second half of the Oklahoma State game with a sprained ankle, while Hicks has been out with a hip flexor injury sustained against Ole Miss more than a month ago. There are rumors that the injury could keep him out for the season, increasingly the possibility that Hicks could consider a medical redshirt to preserve a season of eligibility.

But Brown and Hicks aren't the only players who won't be available against Baylor, as freshman fullback Alex De La Torre, sophomore tight end Miles Onyegbule, and sophomore safety Sheroid Evans were also ruled out for the game.

Junior left tackle Donald Hawkins left the game against Oklahoma with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable.

As for junior defensive tackle Brandon Moore, who was immobilized and taken off the field on Saturday with a neck injury, there are no indications that he will miss the game, as his trip to the hospital was cautionary.

For a team with little margin for error, the injury report once again brought bad news. Happy hour on Fridays has not been the happiest hour in some time for Texas fans.
