Longhorns injury updates: David Ash, Alex Okafor, Marquise Goodwin questionable for Kansas State

A rare Sunday injury report detailed the carnage from the TCU loss.

Not only did the Texas loss to TCU on Thursday night crush any hopes of a Big 12 conference title or a BCS bowl bid for the Longhorns, it also took a significant injury toll, as the school revealed on Sunday.

Quarterback David Ash suffered an injury to his ribs at some point in the game and is questionable, as are wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (thumb) and defensive end Alex Okafor.

It's not clear at this point when the injury to Ash occurred, as he did not appear to receive any medical attention until late in the game when he was replaced for the second time by Case McCoy. However, Ash did take a hit to that area on the third play of the game.

With the starter questionable and coming off another performance in which he was unable to recover from early struggles, the odds of McCoy starting against Kansas State are certainly increased, but will not be known until the next injury report, which should come out Friday evening.

The Longhorns also lost two other players for the season -- running back Jeremy Hills, whose Texas career is over after breaking his leg on his first career touchdown run late in the game, and linebacker Demarco Cobbs, who suffered a knee injury.

Additionally, offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle is once again out with a shoulder injury.

After a period of relative recovery for the Longhorns, the attrition suffered against TCU was significant and has the potential to be telling as the 'Horns try to seek their first victory against the Wildcats since 2003.
