In the ongoing confusion over whether or not the San Antonio Police Department has decided not to file charges against Texas Longhorns football players Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks, the attorney for McCoy has his own statement:
Just spoke w Case McCoy's attorney. He, echoing Hicks' lawyer, considers the S.A. sexual assault case closed. #Longhorns

Additionally, the attorney for Hicks is standing behind his earlier words about the investigation coming to a halt:
Attorney for Jordan Hicks tells me he stands by his statement that SAPD has notified them the charges will be dropped.

Here's what the SAPD has to say about it:
In light of the media inquiries into the allegation of a sexual assault that took place in the early morning hours of December 28, 2012, in the downtown area, the San Antonio Police Department's SVU (Special Victims Unit) is still reviewing the case.
It sounds like the DA may still have a decision to make about the situation, but the police department has recommended that charges not be filed, which explains why the lawyers are saying it has been dropped after receiving phone calls from the department. If that is the case, the odd thing is that they would say they are still reviewing instead of saying that the DA will now make their decision.

Perry Minton, the Austin-area attorney retained by Texas Longhorns linebacker Jordan Hicks, believes that his client is innocent of any wrongdoing:
I have spent about an hour-and-a-half speaking with Jordan Hicks, and I can say based on that discussion I am very confident that everything that happened from the first drink at the bar to the time everyone said goodnight was entirely consensual and above board. Nothing that was done by him or Mr. McCoy was against the law. Period.
No charges have yet been filed as the investigation apparently continues into the allegations made by the accuser regarding her the incidents of early Friday morning at the Riverwalk Holiday Inn.
Minton is an Austin native and graduate of Texas who has previously represented Cedric Benson and Augie Garrido.
