The injury bug has hit the Longhorns once again.

The Texas Longhorns will be without early enrollee Jake Raulerson for the rest of the spring after the Celina product underwent an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday, the school revealed.

A US Army All-American who was expected to come in and start out at defensive end, the plan was changed just before Raulerson arrived on campus in January and he had been spending his time on the offensive side of the ball at center.

Undersized after playing both ways in high school, the unfortunate element of this injury it that it may delay Raulerson's development in terms of adding the functional strength and necessary mass to anchor against bigger nose tackles inside.
