When the Texas Longhorns travel to Manhattan to play the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday, head coach Charlie Strong will certainly be without one contributor and may be without another.
The school revealed on Friday evening that junior wide receiver Daje Johnson will miss a second straight game with a hamstring injury he sustained in his return from suspension against Oklahoma. Johnson had one carry for five yards against the Sooners.
And freshman safety Jason Hall will be a game-time decision after missing the Iowa State game. He injured his patellar tendon against Oklahoma and has been limited in practice, with the coaches labeling his as day-to-day throughout the week.
As the offense has improved over the last several weeks, the impact of Johnson's absence has decreased, but Hall was sorely missed last weekend against Iowa State, as sophomore Adrian Colbert had issues lining up and playing fast. If Hall can't play or is limited, it could be the difference in the Longhorns giving up some big plays.
Texas will kick off against Kanass State at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
