Rocky IV
Do yo think that when the our team captains meet their guys during the coin flip, one of our big guys will give the Dolph Lundgren line of "I must break you?"  He had the Gobachev dude looking on, we have the human voters.

Let's hope K State isn't Rocky.

I never thought I'd wake up to Georgia murdering Auburn and Arizona performing horrible acts on Cal's season.  It's going to be a good day indeed.

Withstand the surge
you know how mack always talks about "withstand the surge".  why doesn't his O coordinate coach that way.  KSU all juiced up and we run into the teeth of the D four times from the one?  GD needs to practice what he preaches.

by losthorn on Nov 11, 2006 7:49 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I disagree on one thing
Sneed must have the talent or Mack wouldn't have recruited him...

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 8:27 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

snead
sure he has talent..  but he is just a true freshman with no experience in a close game.  Right now he's nowhere close to Colt in the passing game.  Hopefully colt will feel okay for the 2nd half

by Matt on Nov 11, 2006 8:28 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Whew
We needed that 4th down.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 8:30 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

maybe not
maybe we shouldn't try to throw on non-passing downs, cuz we can protect

by losthorn on Nov 11, 2006 8:31 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Well
Unless the defense steps up, we're going to lose. Our RBs are averaging 3.5 ypc and Snead can't complete a pass to save his damn life right now.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 8:35 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Whatever it takes
They need to do whatever has to be done to get Colt back in this game.  Juice him up, what ever needs to be done - we have to win this game.  Plenty of time for resting that shoulder before the TAMU game.  This is getting very hairy!

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 8:35 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Agreed...
I don't think Sneed will pull this out...Colt has to come back, and hopefully, not too injured.

by Blackwulff on Nov 11, 2006 8:39 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Why
Why the HELL are we running repeatadly up the middle when they are swarming there. The one time wonder boy GD doesn't call the little screen pass to the left or right and it's when it would work the BEST! I attribute Colt's getting hurt to GD. If he had listened threw the TV to me screaming for a fake bootleg that entire goal line stand, Texas' O would be rolling. Good luck with Snead, he's proved his worth with the starters. Lord let Colt come back in after the half or this shit is over.

by inVINCEable on Nov 11, 2006 8:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Kansas State D
They are daring him to throw the ball, they've played man coverage, for the most part, ever since he entered the game.  That would also explain the issues we've had running the ball.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 8:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Gotta go for it
We can't tip toe around on this thing. If McCoy can't come back, give Snead every chance to make the plays to win. We're gonna have to see if he can make some plays.

This is terrifying.

by Peter Bean on Nov 11, 2006 8:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Everybody needs to step it up
I can't believe how lost this team looks without Colt in the game - he has really become the heart and soul of this team.  If he can't come back, the rest of the guys better take it up a notch because Jevan looks like a deer in headlights - he reminds me a lot of what Colt looked like against tOSU.  We may have to rely on the D to win it.

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 8:48 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Exactly
The D has to make plays, and the way they've played, that scares me.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 8:50 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

im so scared i made an account
if it is Colt's non-throwing arm, which i think it is, HE HAS TO COME BACK. you only need one arm to throw. pray for colt!

by ezzi110 on Nov 11, 2006 8:51 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Not that simple...
His non throwing arm is still needed to protect the ball as he goes through his throwing motion. Using only his throwing arm could leave the ball unprotected and easy to knock out of his hands under pressure.

injury ideas?
if it is a concussion, colt can play next week.
strained neck, he can play next week.
separated shoulder, probably out next week.
neck stinger? im not sure how long that takes.

we should have been informed by now what happened to him. why are the UT officials holding out on us?

by ezzi110 on Nov 11, 2006 9:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Neck stinger
My guess is a neck stinger.  If so he should be back for tamu.  He was throwing on the sideline earlier which sort of, in my mind, eliminates the shoulder.  It would make sense the staff wouldn't want to take any chances tonight with a neck injury of any kind.  Thoughts?

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 9:12 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Also
I would assume if it was a shoulder that he wouldn't be back on the sidelines right now - he'd already be getting treatment.  I don't think there is any real treatment for a stinger if I remember correctly.  He was in definite pain - doubt it's a concussion.  I'm not a doctor - I just play one in my own mind.

play calling
shouldnt make snead throw anything risky. i would avoid the outs because the DBs can undercut that, and anything down the middle. some hooks, stop and go's, maybe even some no risk fades.

A commentator should go into a game unbiased and I don't think that this is the case. Andre Ware keeps bragging about Josh Freeman and how he's doing things so perfect, well we would be too if K-state's D didn't get a cheap shot in on McCoy. If he can't play against A&M, we're screwed. How many complaints does it take to get a commentator fired?

So long, OSU-UT Nat'l Championship. I'm a little two drunk to make a dispassionate analysis of what's transpired tonight in Manhattan, but at first (albeit alcohol-influenced) blush, it would appear that Colt was, in fact, the end-all be-all of y'all's offense. This is pitiful.

Holiday Bowl
here we come!

Miami in the 91 Cotton Bowl, no big deal.Against UCLA a few years back, I could take the 66-3 or whatever it was because UCLA was a good team.  Against OU, the pounding in 2000, tough loss but acceptable, because OU was clearly a strong team.
Even against Colorado, when Chris Simms INT'd the Horns' way to a loss, I dealt with it.

But this performance is the worst thing I've ever seen from Texas.  Injuries are no excuse for playing like shit against an overmatched team.

We really, really need Colt.  Snead just finally passed Colt's passing yardage total on this drive.  He's 5-16 for 65 yards and I have no confidence that he can win this game for us.

I wouldn't go for it
too much of a risk for roughing the kicker

Imagine that
Andre thinks he got the first down

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 10:42 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Damn
That was gutsy, but the defense was obviously not ready for it.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 10:42 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Shoot.
:-( We tried. Could have been better. But tough to do with a QB2 the whole game against a team that has nothing to lose.

by UTRAWKER on Nov 11, 2006 10:43 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Hate it
but got to give KSU credit for a gutsy game.

SOB!!!!!!!

Now we have to beat the sheep breeders for Big 12 south...

Man
If it hadn't been for GD's chicken shit call for a QB option when KS was playing tough rush defense, none of this would have happened. The rest of the play calls were crap (with a few exceptions like the Ogbonaigha (whatever) draw)

Actually
I really hated that shovel pass on 2nd and 10 on the drive before KSU's field goal drive.  It lost 5 yards and went into the teeth of the defense.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 10:48 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

ok guys
we can still get a stupid BCS game, all we have to do is win the big 12 title game, and that might make us feel better. i dont think we could hang with OSU or MICH anyway, so maybe this was for the best.

Think
This might put the Big East back into the picture with all of the upsets today.

Had a bad feeling this am
and it got a whole lot worse in pregame when the studio guys responded to "What does K State have to do to have a chance?" with gut-busting laughter.

I'm just stunned and hoping that it's all a f'ing nightmare.

by the usual suspects on Nov 11, 2006 10:48 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I AM
Sick a freaking tired of watching a game one week and every f-ing play is reviewed, but the next only one review is done and the play they reviewed should never have not been called.  Guy drops a pass on the sideline on 2nd and long and they call it a completion and there is no review.  Then a guy crawls for the first down on that last play and they give it to him.  Not that it would have made that big of a difference, but it would have given Texas a chance!  F' the Big 12 officials and their stupid ass calls.

by kirk1005 on Nov 11, 2006 10:48 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

keys to the loss
  1. Colt died
  2. No Reviews on key fumbles. How the hell do those guys know for sure?
  3. Terrible pass defense. When a RB is running sideways, it means HB PASS DUMBOS.
  4. Josh Freeman. when you are facing a flawless player, it is hard to win.
  5. that 51 yard FG killed us.

by ezzi110 on Nov 11, 2006 10:50 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Disagree on #3
When a RB is running sideways in an opposing team's uniform, it means HB pass.

When one of our RB is running sideways, it means standard running play was called.

You were right on the others.  I kneel before the perfection that is Josh Freeman.

They never
gave a diagnoses.  Andre Ware was too busy pronouncing Jevan, Jevon.  What an idiot.  BTW, I wish the big 12 would get a contract with CBS.  They're a lot more football savvy than the idiots ABC puts in the booth.

You going to buy a Josh Freeman jersey?

by sportsfan on Nov 11, 2006 10:55 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Last unknown Josh Freeman facts
Josh Freeman invented the football jersey, the football helmet, should be credited for the theory of relativity, was actually present at The Last Supper, captured Adolf Hitler, and was the first man to walk on the moon.

Nice job Andre Ware, you dickhead - you can go blow Freeman now.

That was
Such a bad game.  I cannot count the things that went wrong.  Feel bad for McCoy, and the team.  His star was on the rise and it was all starting to click.

We had dropped passes out the wazzoo, fumbles, allowed a blocked punt, lost our QB on the opening drive, bad calls with no reviews, ect, ect, ect.  It was aperfect storm of awefulness.  I am feeling sick.

by SwimTexas on Nov 11, 2006 10:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I hear
you swimtexas.  It seemed like everything went K-State's way.  Even the fumble by the k-state reciever went their way.  I have never seen someone get hit from behind and the ball come out and roll the opposite direction.  EVERYTHING went K-States way.

Mack was right at halftime
he said the same thing...  I just didn't think it could continue for another half.

Quan Crosby, Neale Twiddle, and Javon Snead.

How does
Andre Ware get a job like that?  If all it takes is to mis-pronounce names, I can do that.  What a washed up never-was-been.  Thats actually a made up hyphenated word I stole from Andre.

by kirk1005 on Nov 11, 2006 11:00 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

And
How come Greg Davis opened up the playbook more for Jevan "Javon" Snead than he ever has for Colt McCoy?  I understand we were down, but even in the 3rd quarter it seemed like we threw the ball more in that quarter than McCoy usually throws in a game...

by kirk1005 on Nov 11, 2006 11:04 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Because.....
Greg Davis wasn't running our offense....that's right....Josh Freeman was.  What you must not have realized is that whenever we got the ball back, Josh Freeman ran backwards up every flight of stairs to the coaches boxes and became our offensive coordinator.  When KSU got the ball back, he would put on his cape and fly from the press boxes back to his sideline and begin playing QB.  The sooner everyone realizes what Andre Ware clearly knows, that we are here only by the grace and mercy of Josh Freeman, the sooner your life will be less complicated.

by Screw O.U. on Nov 11, 2006 11:17 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Another continuing problem
Both Jammal Charles and Selvin Young haven't been able to hold onto the ball, we had this problem against Tech with the 3 fumbles and then had 2 more in this one.  KState had a pick and a blocked punt, but nothing more than that.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.  Add that with the blocked punt and that punt return (which turned the game in the first half).  They scored 2/3rds of their points off our fuckups.

by AMB on Nov 11, 2006 11:15 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

FUCK!
I only have 1 question.

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?

Why cant we get in on 1st and goal on the 1, 2nd and goal on the 1, and 3rd and goal on the half then go for another sneak?

How do we let Josh Freeman beat Aaron Ross deep?

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?

How do both our running backs fumble on consecutive (identical) plays?

How do we get our punt blocked by Kansas fucking State?

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?

How do we let some assbucket return a punt 54 yards to the 8?

How does Limas Sweed drop a crucial first down pass, that leads to a huge punt and major time shank?

How do we keep giving up 1st downs on 2nd and 3rd and long that barely (if at all) cross the Line of Gain?

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?

How do the refs give extra yards just to keep the chains moving?

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?

Fuck! Did I just witness the BCS gods open the door wide open for the Horns and now we're headed to play Boise State at best, fucking Boise State?

Is that more than 1 question? FUCK!

1 more:

Why isnt Greg Davis fired yet?
