Slick but passable
Keep in mind that OSU hasn't played since getting hammered by Kansas almost a week ago and it could be a non-sell out late arriving crowd because of the weather.
Look for me on TV. I'll be the guy with the OU hat on!

Thanks Matt
We'll look for you.

More Praise for Durant

Aaron Gray
Heck, I'd settle for Levon Kendall-type skills at this point.

I'm feeling this game

UConn and Texas
UConn lost their top seven guys. Texas lost six of their top seven guys. UConn is playing with basically all sophomores and freshman. The same for the Horns.
Yet, Jim Calhoun knew his team would need time to develop. They played a cupcake schedule early and tried to build confidence. They are coming around but not there yet. Rick Barnes didn't back down and challenged his young team early with out of conference matchups in New York, with Gonzaga, with LSU, and with Tennessee. We have already seen the benefits. Great job Rick.
--AW--
Two things
- I hate this part where you have to watch the final minute and a half of some game you care nothing about while you wait to get to the tip of the Texas game. Dickie V screaming is not helping.
- Voting is CLOSED on the Enemy first round matchups. Your winners: Kellen Heard, Sooner Mom, Eric Pederson, and Merril Hoge. No upsets. I think we got the right four.
The nation can wait
Keys to the Game
- Control the tempo. The faster the better.
- Stay out of foul trouble (especially KD and James).
- Start quickly and limit crowd's effect on the game.
- Win the battle from behind the arc. Control Harris, Eaton, and James on defense while knocking down some on the other end to keep the OSU defense from collapsing on Durant.

ESPN Programming
Quick pace
For us, we gotta stay out of foul trouble.
Solid start 10-8 at first tv timeout.

Spirit week
Kevin Durant
How good is he playing right now?
Supernova
Love the pace

Lewis down low
by sonnyalvaradorules on Jan 16, 2007 8:30 PM CST reply actions
Hill in
Rebounding is definitely a concern. We haven't snagged one cleanly during any of the possessions when we played the 2-3 zone. We block out much better in man.
--AW--
Lewis is light years above most highschool stars
lewis and atchley
I hereby
Great D by James
How good is Abrams at setting his feet on the 3? Unbelievable.
--AW--
AW
JD
We have to steal minutes with him this year b/c we aren't deep.
Basically, Barnes is making the best of a terrible situation as JD is the first and really only perimeter sub this year.
--AW--
On most quality teams
He would not be getting serious bench minutes, like at Texas.
Bah
Things slowing down
Our lack of depth
All our early momentum has been lost. Lots for Rick to talk about at halftime.
Down 3
Rebounding and limiting turnovers must improve.
Also, take the ball to the rim. Make OSU defend and get to the line.
--AW--
Come on Horns
why is it
Kinda like (dare I say it) Vince on 3rd down.
Why Texas Why?
AGAIN!!!
EVER.
It's fucking pathetic.
Dear God I'm tired of complaining about this.
My only complaint so far
But I'm nitpicking.
DJ has 2 fouls.
--AW--
JD Lewis
OSU 38-36 at half
Also, we have to slow down Curry and Boggan. Both had solid first halves.
Barnes stole some minutes with our limited bench in the first half. Texas would be wise to push the ball as much as possible in the second half.
Solid halves by KD and James.
--AW--
Lewis is just
Scoring drops off when Lewis is handling the ball.
Why oh why would Barnes take Augustin out ever.
lewis does not have the skills or the brains to contribute to the offense.
What was the deal

BTW
No work again tomorrow.
--AW--
First half notes
- This is a true Big 12 basketball test for our young team. It's been a war in the first half, and won't get any easier in the second.
- I know Rick's got good intentions with trying to steal minutes with the second-tier guys, but if he wants to leave G-Iba with a win, he's gonna need to push the starters to their limit.
- EVERYONE must do better rebounding. Good news is that we've been a better second half rebounding team this year.
Lewis is in
Horns not only ones that need to step up game
Probably drop this one

by txengineer on Jan 16, 2007 9:49 PM CST reply actions
Augustin or Durant
62-58 4 min left
On d, keep making them go one and out. Much better job on the defensive glass recently. Also, the zone has confused them.
This is a winnable game with 4 to go. That is about all you can ask.
--AW--
Dove is out
by txengineer on Jan 16, 2007 9:50 PM CST reply actions
Oden lacks a true desire to be physical
He does things you would see at the Junior High level.
I've seen 3 of their games and at times he become a liability.
big mistake
Not doing well on the stat line
