Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Ramonce Taylor

Looking back on the year and how our offense did its probably save to say that Ramonce Taylor was not missed but i believe he would have helped this team especially in the big play running back department. Remember our kickoffs this year they were just awful and i mean awful what was our longest return 10 yards. RT definetly would have helped out UT in that department. One thing that Texas lacked this year was a spark and a guy that just scares the crap out of you if he gets the ball. We didn't have that this year, our recievers were good and that stuff but know one was dangerous after the catch like Roy and we have done enough explaining about the running game. Also RT in our biggest games last year came up with a moment shift. Who remembers his kick return against the Buckeyes? One minute i was cursing and screaming and the other i was filled with jubiliation. It was just boneheaded, stupid and at the same time sick play. Thats what Ramonce brought to the table. Also against OU when he set the tone with a big catch and run and then the touchdown to set off the rout. Against Oklahoma State and A&M he saved our season with big performances after our defense struggled a little bit. Then in the Rose Bowl he sparked the team with his TD and gave UT a lot of momentum. Thats what we didn't have against the Buckeyes, K-State and A&M a big play out of nowwhere just something to spark the team. It was the right to decision to cut his ass.

I'm not saying he was the reason we lost three games but people are overlooking the fact that he was an important player and he could have made plays for this team. He was also Texas' "blackest or thugest player to. Anybody remember him at the championship ceremony in Austin when he wore big dark shades and wore this big ass grill i thought wow how did this guy into Texas?

"blackest or thugest player to(o)"
Nice.
Do you have any 'Mississippi Burning' quotes to leave here?  Perhaps something referencing sharecropping or the 3/5th Compromise?

Blackest.

Classic.

I'm not racist
I'm not racist its just im pointing out what everbody else knows. Ramonce Taylor fits thug sterotype easily. I'm betting he is not a bad guy but when you get caught with weed, guns, and hang out with bad people and then where a grill and black gucci shades like Bun B then you fit the black sterotype "thug". You are the one that says you hate asians on your profile so don't call me racist.

I think we need a ruling here
Bun B.

That's Great.

I love the association made here, that smoking dope, "whering a grill" and Gucci sunglasses is the blackest of activities.

I'm sure you're not a racist at all, but maybe we stop this line of posting, save face and head back to the rally.

PS> This shit is about you man, besides, Asians love it when you hate them.  Go to the dry cleaners sometime and you'll see what I mean.

where vs wear
sound the same, but oh so different. This guy could be the bizarro Wells.

As Tbone says
It is not the Thug comment that is racist, it is using Thug and Black as synonyms that is.

Kickoffs
were actually pretty damn good. Quan had 2 or 3 that almost broke and so did Selvin
41-38

I have to disagree...
Matt Nordgren was BY FAR the blackest and most thuggish player on that team, hands down.
Hey Boise State fans, no pictures of crying OU kids on your fanblog ok?

Matt "where my money bitch" Nordgren?
Oh man, that playa was just straight up smooove....

Have you seen his grill?
He's always "whering" sick amounts of ice in it.

**steps away from the burning cross conversation**
We missed RT in a bad way.  Like you said, there wasn't one guy on the offense that scared anybody, and that can't be overstated.

I agree
I thought he absence would be of little concern to our offense, but looking back at some of his plays makes me wonder if giving him a role like Harvin's in the BCS NC game would have helped at times jumpstart our stagnant offense.

Ramonce
What single player would make the most impact; Limas, Quan, Jordan, Selvin, Jamaal, JMike, Ramonce?

I would take Ramonce (forgetting for a moment that he is a tad self destructive) because he did so many things well. We are lucky to have those other players for at least one more year but we missed Ramonce big time.

For every really good play RT had
he'd have another where he ran the wrong route.

Ramonce was good and we couldve used him this year, but at whose expense?

Freshman
it's what freshmen do, that's what spring training and drills are for.  The idea is, that the longer they are under the coaching staff, the more they improve.  RT is a killer athlete, it's just unfortunate that his off field issues are going to jeopardize his future.  I wish him the best, but Jesus Fuck Christ, we really could have used his big play ability.

lets not forget...
RT didn't fumble...and our kickoffs were not as bad as the parent thread initially implied, but the fact is we DID miss him.

Now would we have missed him if we'd have bailed on the HMP (Henry Melton Project)and given Ogbonnaya some more reps.  Didn't we also lose our defenisve player whow did goal line for us too...anyway, RT was missed.

As for the stuff about him being a thug, all I know is the boy made some bad choices.  Lest we forget he was already offically withdrawn from the team for academic problems and instead of working on that and keeping out of trouble, next thing we hear from him is how he and some friends rolled up on a party uninvited and a pound of Cheech & Chong's finest ends up in his backpack?  Man that just isn't smart.  That's up there with Ced Benson kicking in some guys door looking for a plasma TV, Ricky driving around Austin like it was Indy 500 and oh, my favorite Lovell Pinkney and Mike Adams infamous fire hose incident in Jester Hall that got them kicked out of the athletic dorm.

Remember all the dumb shit
you, or your roommate, or "folks you heard about" did in school?  They may be gifted beyond description athletically, and we may be entertained by their stomping of asses on the field, but what it boils down to, is they are still 18-22 yo's (for the most part, thank you very much Quan!) and subject to getting caught in Animal House hijinx.

Compared to the problems other elite programs bump into from time to time, we be alright around here.

true enough...
the Mt. Bonnell sign in my garage is testimony enough to that!!!
