Limas Sweed Tribute
It's been four terrific years, including a national title and arguably the single most important reception in Texas Longhorns football history.
Take a moment to wish Limas all the best heading forward. I'll do what I can to make sure he sees all your comments.
For me? I can count on one hand the number of Longhorns who've been more pleasurable to watch develop. Limas Sweed wasn't destined to be a great player. He worked really, really hard at it. Not everyone with talent puts in the work. Limas did, and he'll always be one of my favorite 'Horns. All the best in the pros, young man.

agreed...
He was really fun to watch develop as a player. Perhaps the Lions will draft him in the first round for yet another wide receiver and he can become as great as Roy? Wishful thinking...

He's going to star in the NFL
Though his days as a Longhorn are coming to an end,
we're going to be seeing him on Sunday for years to come. I'd love to see him as a Cowboy (speaking of which, Oh My God!) or even as a Titan.

Limas
I wish you all the best on your surgery, recovery and in the combine. I hope that you get a great draft position and that you have very successful NFL career.
You provided us with great memories, catches we'll never forget, and great blocking for others. Your contributions to the NC year were priceless and your Ohio State catch set the tone for the rest of that marvelous year. Your hard work and development have been evident all along, and I am sorry this injury happened to you in your senior season with the Longhorns.
The young receivers on the team could use your experience and encouragement as you recover and get ready for the next level. Please pass on what you can. Help us to continue the great tradition that so many like Johnny Lam Jones, Wayne McGarity and Mike Adams started. Roy Williams continued that tradition and raised it up a notch, and you continued in that mold of great Texas receivers. Help them towards getting there too while you are still here.
Remember where you came from and never lose the humility the Lord has blessed you with... it will always stand you in good stead.

Limas! Sweeeeeeed!
We've known Limas is great since the beginning, even before we really got a chance to see him play in the 2005 season. If any of you were still students then, or happened to get seats anywhere close to us, you would have heard us chanting "Limas! Sweeeed!" to the tune of "Texas! Fight!" whenever he was on the field, and sometimes when he wasn't. We created a facebook group dedicated to him (of which he is a member) and will continue to watch his career. Hopefully, he makes a full and speedy recovery and gets drafted in a position that justifies his talent, hard work, and dedication. Personally, I would love to see him and Vince work together again and make the Titans nearly unstoppable (I was never really a fan of theirs until VY went there). We will certainly miss his talent and athleticism during this season when we might need a few morale boosting "did he just catch that?" receptions, but hopefully, he can encourage and lead his teammates from the sidelines. Best of luck, thanks for everything you've done for Longhorns everywhere!

Kirkendoll cannot wear 10...
But even as one of Roy Williams' biggest fans, I had no problem with you wearing number 4 throughout your season. Like Roy Williams, you will go into the pros and develop into one of the top receivers in the NFL, which will be great to watch. To put it best:
Even though Vince Young stole the show in 2006, I will remember the catch you made against OSU as long as I will remember the 4th and 5 against USC.

One of the best
It is certainly disappointing that your Longhorn career has come to an abrupt end. You were one of the most exciting and talented I have ever watched play in the Burnt Orange. I hope you have a very successful NFL career and know that you will always be remembered as one of the best, ever. Please do what you can to help the young guys finish out this season well.

Limas, His Highness.
Limas will take with him a big chunk of our offensive personality. Who doesn't fondly remember the deep, runaway bombs after practically every interception or fumble last year? It was like "Hey, you watch film, right? You know it's coming! And you can't stop the double move!"
I'll always remember my favorite Sweed moment of all time was that touchdown against Iowa. I'm standing behind the corner of the endzone and Limas runs right at me, catches the ball and tumbles into the tunnel. We went nuts! Then he's hurt on the play, and once he stood up and started walking off with the trainers, I started chanting "Sweed! Sweed! Sweed!" Within about 10 seconds, half the stadium was doing it, then he pumps the Horns and we all went nuts again! No one looks more graceful gliding down the sidelines, untouched for six.
Good luck, Limas. Here's hoping you go to Tennessee and win some Super Bowls!

At our house
Sweed is referred to as "Lemus" all done out of affection.
Tough way to end a senior season. However, as the years go by the good times will be what he remembers most.

Congrats ona successful college career
and good luck in the pros, Limas. The Texans are on the up and up and could use a #2 receiver!

Thanks Again
You are an unforgettable player who had an unforgettable career. You rank right next to VY on my list of Longhorn Heroes. I wish you nothing but the best as you move forward. I expect to see your horns pointed to the sky every time you score in the NFL! Thank you one last time for all the joy that you brought us, you will live in Texas Football lore forever!

Thanks Limas
Thank you for all you've done for our team. You've been an amazing athlete who has come through in the clutch for us over and over, and a person of character who has represented our program well. You make us all proud to wear burnt orange.
We're all sad to be losing our last chances this season to see you amaze us again. I guess we'll just have to wait for the NFL highlight reels.
Best wishes for a quick recovery, high draft position, and much deserved guarantee:).

Farewell
Limas Sweed is a classy guy with incredible skills. I hope this doesn't kill his draft status.

Limas!
Thanks for all the catches and all the blocks you made. More important than all that, thanks for representing our university with your high character. Thanks for making us proud. I wish you all the best in the pros.
PS. PB, I'm nitpicking here, but the tribute picture lacks Limas blocks!

Limas Block
OMG, Dominance!

THAT BLOCK...
was the one that got us to the MNC. I've watch that play a million times but never realized it was Limas block that made it happen. I was in Stillwater for that game and that one play took the wind out of OSU's sails and got "Mo" on our side.
Limas, no telling how many other blocks you had that were never recognized; you were an integral part of that MNC team (we all saw your great catches)
Best of luck.

Limas good luck!!
Limas, thanks for all the great memories and showing class all the way. You will always be
remembered for the catch at Ohio State that gave
us the great chance to win the NC.
Hope you have a full recovery and are rewarded by the NFL for a job well done. Please help our
youngsters for the rest of this year. We need it!!
I hope you are on the sidelines next year when we
win another NC.
Horns up, good man.
God gave you incredible talent.
Always be humble and remember to Hook'em.

To Limas..
When your first arrived at Texas, people were unsure of you donning the #4 of Roy Williams. Now; I can't think of anyone more deserving to wear #4. You've proven every one of your critics wrong and have won the hearts of the Longhorn Nation. Last year you showed us what kind of playmaker you have become and will blossom into at the next level. I am saddened that we didn't get to see more of your highlight reel catches this year, but most certainly we will be looking forward to your days in the NFL.
All the best to ya Limas!

Lime Time
So sad to see his career end like that. Makes you kind of wonder if he played in a good passing offense his first two years how good he would have been. His career highlight is that catch against OSU and he showed last year how good he really was.
We will miss you Lime Time. Class act and class player. Sorry to rag on you this season b/c i did not know that you were playing with an injury.
Good luck in your NFL career.
