Okie State

This is how it ALWAYS starts, for the last few years at least.  Relax, this team is tough and they'll bounce back.

Yeah

Things have been hard this year... too bad they have to start out this bad at Stillwater.  We just need to pull off of the experience of all the adversity we've hhad already this year.

Please call FSN

Your announcers have fled to ABC. These two are horrible! Great hit by Muck!

by milevin on Nov 3, 2007 3:59 PM CDT reply actions

Question

Has anyone ever thought about starting Muckleroy ahead of Bobino and Derry?  It might be a good idea.

by JohnsonUT on Nov 3, 2007 3:59 PM CDT reply actions

I hate that play

That stupid drag to Nate Jones on 3rd and 6 where we throw it for 2 yards on a blitz. Never works.

how about

hitting Finley right in front of the umpire?  the middle is wide open.

Anyone else

see our gunner get shoved from behind right as the returner caught the ball?

Refs are missing open field penalties

OSU getting away with downfield holds.  Home cookin'.

Muck's a monster

Yea, the color guy sucks. The play-by-play dude "Franklin" I think, is pretty good.

by spinmonkey on Nov 3, 2007 4:02 PM CDT reply actions

Better option play

Texas is slow playing the option. Keep up.

by milevin on Nov 3, 2007 4:03 PM CDT reply actions

bobino??

I didn't know sergio kindle wore #44.

My adopted son Sergio Kindle does not sleep; he waits.

Bobino AND Derry make a good play

Read the play

The quarterback is back pedaling because HE IS LOOKING FOR THE SCREEN.

by milevin on Nov 3, 2007 4:04 PM CDT reply actions

handy rule of thumb:

if Bobino can get into the backfield before a pass is released, it's a screen.

by billyzane on Nov 3, 2007 4:05 PM CDT reply actions

I just don't understand

why our defense does not throw off blocks.  Don't they practice this shit!

Did anyone

else hear that redneck dumbass yelling, "GET YO ASSES BACK HERE BOYS, ITS NOT OVER!"  He said it like 10 times, great job ABC.  Thats the class of OSU...

by kirk1005 on Nov 3, 2007 4:14 PM CDT reply actions

They always run off a couple of seconds

Clock doesn't stop until they start moving the chains - not when he goes down... that's what they always do...

by Texas Wahoo on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Where's the frigging safety.

Covering the TE is basic on the goal line. Dammit.

by whills on Nov 3, 2007 4:16 PM CDT reply actions

So?

He didn't get a first down so the clock doesn't stop.  Gundy didn't appear to signal for a time-out until they had put the time back on the clock.

by Bob LaBlog on Nov 3, 2007 4:22 PM CDT up reply actions

GOD DAMN

Refs fuck us again at OSU...These guys need to fired by the Big 12, if this conference has any integrity at all.

My adopted son, Lamarr Houston, once beat up Chuck Norris. Now thats a bad ass!

refs

must be on the Boone Pickens payroll, too.

"And as they were loosing the Colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the Colt? And they said, The Lord hath need of him."

by SelimSivad on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT up reply actions

well

Texas did miss tackles on 3rd down a few times during that drive.

by Kool Hand on Nov 3, 2007 4:18 PM CDT up reply actions

well

that just blows, all the momentum we built with sold play just disapperas with that last drive. Great move by OSU going into the half, it's back to being "their" game now.

Fuck

by Crash on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT reply actions

you can't go back in time

and say we SHOULD'VE blown it down then
that's not right

by abcdmetrius on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT reply actions

what are you all complaining about?

they clearly made the right call on the clock.  there were 2 or 3 seconds left when he went down and it was a first down so the clock stops.  then OSU took a timeout.  calm the fuck down.

by billyzane on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT reply actions

Calm the fuck down?

Seriously, you are the one getting bent outa shape because of something I said.  I use this to help vent some of my frustration.  Plus, I'm not the only one here that has said something about the officiating, so why not tell them to calm the fuck down?

My adopted son, Lamarr Houston, once beat up Chuck Norris. Now thats a bad ass!

by kirk1005 on Nov 3, 2007 4:20 PM CDT up reply actions

last i checked, i didn't reply to just you

and i very specifically said "what are YOU ALL complaining about?"

Plural.

by billyzane on Nov 3, 2007 4:23 PM CDT up reply actions

okay kids

neither brown, nor davis, nor akina are here, so there's no reason to be mean.  we all want the same thing here.

by FutureMan on Nov 3, 2007 4:25 PM CDT up reply actions

He still was short of the first down

So the clock shouldn't have started.  The penalty gave them a first down, not the play.

by Bob LaBlog on Nov 3, 2007 4:27 PM CDT up reply actions

You're right ...

Defense still could have made a play at end of half to keep it 21-14

"Excuse me while I whip this out."

by FreedomDip on Nov 3, 2007 4:28 PM CDT up reply actions

really?

i don't think that was the case.  the extra 2 inches from the penalty game them a first down?  i'm pretty sure they had it from the pass seeing as they were about half a yard from a touchdown before the penalty.

i'd have to go back and check to be sure though.  regardless, if that wasn't a first down, then you have to measure that and if the refs had blown it dead when they should have, then OSU could have just take its timeout.

by billyzane on Nov 3, 2007 4:31 PM CDT up reply actions

not true

the play gave them a first down.  clock stops.  shitty coverage, but proper call.

by cracka on Nov 3, 2007 4:52 PM CDT up reply actions

They were nearly a yard short

The penalty gave them half the distance to the goal which became a first down.

by Bob LaBlog on Nov 3, 2007 5:08 PM CDT up reply actions

that's not true

i just watched the game again on Tivo.  Sorry.  You're wrong.  the first down marker was at the 5 or 6 yard line and he got to the 1.  Go back and watch it again.

by billyzane on Nov 5, 2007 4:38 PM CST up reply actions

Second Half

Since Texas obviously played all second and third string in the first half, will they let the first stringers play in the second?

by spinmonkey on Nov 3, 2007 4:17 PM CDT reply actions

SECOND HALF OPEN THREAD

This one's getting laggy.

Head on over.

Also: FUCK

--PB--

by Peter Bean on Nov 3, 2007 4:18 PM CDT reply actions

Its a matter

of them screwing up on numerous calls and not checking to make sure they made the right call before blowing the whistle.  Thats what I am complaining about.  Have you not watched the game except for that play?

My adopted son, Lamarr Houston, once beat up Chuck Norris. Now thats a bad ass!

by kirk1005 on Nov 3, 2007 4:18 PM CDT reply actions

uh....

boys, the refs sucked on the fumble call, but that worked out ok for us in the end. And as much as I hate to say it, 2 seconds was the right call. (yes, yes, I know that usually they just call it a half at that point).

Bigger issues than the refs:
Colt throwing and UGLY int
Going 3 and out after we actually do get a turnover
D playing VERY inconsistent
and our favorite whipping boy, LBs suck

by Crash on Nov 3, 2007 4:20 PM CDT reply actions

True. Never depend on refs on the road.

We're still over pursuing. Playing this offense straight up is the key. Do that and we can stop much of the run and some portion of the passes.

by whills on Nov 3, 2007 4:22 PM CDT up reply actions

D

Can we please for the love of Carl Reese stop someone on 3rd down?

'Til Gabriel blows his horn...

by mattyj on Nov 3, 2007 4:21 PM CDT reply actions

maybe it's the beer

but i have a good feeling about the second half. between BPU's awful defense and the perceived fuck job from the refs, we will rally and kick ass in the second half.  we get the ball, we score, the defense steps up...maybe?

by FutureMan on Nov 3, 2007 4:22 PM CDT reply actions

Refs did get it right

On that OSU punt return for TD ... didn't they call it back for illegal block?

Quit crying

"Excuse me while I whip this out."

by FreedomDip on Nov 3, 2007 4:23 PM CDT reply actions

CBS announcer just said the dumbest thing ...

As Glenn Dorsey lay on the field after an awkward hit, the analyst said, "Glenn Dorsey will be a top player in the NFL. Dorsey should not play another down for LSU this year. He's got too much of a future to play any more this year."

WHAT?

"Excuse me while I whip this out."
