Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Morning Coffee

Kevin Durant was named the winner of the Naismith Award on Saturday, his sixth major award of the year. Durant becomes the first-ever freshman and second Longhorn (TJ Ford, 2003) to be honored by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. Durant's already the most decorated player in UT history and has endeared himself to thousands of Longhorn fans. One more year to make a run at San Antonio really would secure his spot as not only the best Longhorn basketball player of all time, but many people's favorite, too.

The Longhorn baseball team took two of three from Oklahoma over the weekend after dropping the series finale on Sunday. I'll have a full series report later today.

MB-TF has a basic recap and photo gallery of the Spring Scrimmage. My own thoughts on the workout are below.

Chris at Rakes of Mallow has filed the first dispatch in what promises to be an interesting back and forth exchange recapping this year's NCAA tournament. I'll have a response dispatch to file later this afternoon.

the more i think about KD

the more i am leaning towards him staying.  like others, maybe i am delusional, but i think what is being hinted at by Barnes is that KD can really set a precedent with just one more year, and that his marketability could go through the roof especially if he leads Texas to San Antonio.  So that even from a pure financial standpoint, staying one more year could mean more $.

As someone who doesn't watch the NBA, I think of a lot of big time players who went straight to the Association and they all kind of blend together.  B/c KD played a year of college, I and others will always know and love him, but if stayed another year - everyone in America will feel the same.
