Only bright spot in Lincoln...
Man walks into a sports bar in New York City .. catches the last two innings of the Texas-Nebraska game. It's ugly. We had only one hit at that point. We finished with two, and zero runs. Kudos to Tony Watson, Nebraska pitcher, who pitched a complete game and stifled one of the best offenses in the country. I am looking for our bats to explode tomorrow.
Oh yeah, the bright spot? Seeing our boys in Virginia Tech caps. What a great statement of camaraderie, from a school with its own history of tragedy. Once again: I am proud to be from UT.

Nice post
And I agree with the sentiment. At the end of the day, our lives all revolve around Burnt Orange sporting events, but given the situation in Blacksburg, it all seems a bit insignificant this week. Nice touch from the boys.

what bar in NYC shows college baseball games?
this one was on ESPNU or CSTV, right? i guess huge sports bars would maybe have 1 TV on those channels, but is there a place that Texas fans watch baseball games?
i'm not a huge college baseball fan (re: PING!), but i'd like to be able to watch some of the regionals/super-regionals/CWS games.
The bar's in Chelsea, but there's a catch
It's called the Gym Bar between 18 & 19 on 8th Ave. They've got 6 or 7 screens around the place, and the bartenders are good about tuning one to whatever sports channel you want to see. I've watched everything from CWS to college FB to Women's March Madness there.
The catch is it's a gay bar. But I'll tell you, the crowd last night was more involved in the Yankees-Sox game than anything else.
Where's the photo?
Last night, texassports.com had a photo of our guys in their VT caps. Today it's gone. The current photo of Russell on the mound isn't even from last night's game (we wore gray, not white). Couldn't find a picture anywhere, but did learn that the Washington Nationals sported VT caps Tuesday night in their game against the Braves. (They lost, too.)
Confusing
I couldn't figure it out, either. Was going to run the photo but TS.com took it away
