Durant Staying at UT
Now, let me preface by saying this is nothing more than just another rumor. We've heard plenty, so take this for what it's worth. I will say that I was spot on about Gillespie going to Kentucky the moment the last buzzer sounded in the A&M-Memphis game, so I'm hoping that I keep my unblemished streak going this offseason :)
Anyway, a close friend of mine has a best friend who works under the communications director at UT. My friend managed to get her friend to cough up the news about Durant. Apparently, he's taken out a huge insurance policy in his legs (to the tune of $25 mil or so), and plans to stay at UT for another year. He of course wanted to make sure Barnes was going to stay before committing. Apparently an announcement can be expected sometime in the next week.
Like I said, take it for what it's worth. But I trust my source, and I'm sticking with it.

Consequences
Prepare to be tarred and feathered if you're wrong...
Conversely, we'll all say nice thanks about you if you're right.
C'mon KD - one more year!
ESPN radio
in the car this morning, reporting that Durant is leaving for NBA.
I've searched ESPN and other sites and haven't found a trace of the actual story.
This is too close to call, but I think the NBA stories have some legs.
it's probbaly that same draftexpress rumor
the reason it's not on ESPN's website is that they can't confirm it with anyone.
doesn't mean it's not true, but yeah.
ESPN Radio?
I think we have all had about enough of them this week. I'll believe our BON source before those morons.
By the way
I've put in a call to the DraftExpress writer asking him to phone me, so we'll see if he gets back to me. I hope to get some clarification on what he's heard.
ESPN Rumor
I'd trust this source too. The whole Deadspin, Draftexpress rumor doesn't seem legit. If there was any truth to the rumors about him leaving, they'd be all over. Since the new insurance policy thing has come up this year, I think it's very possible that this is true.
this was on si.com today
There's a high-stakes tug-of-war going on to head off Texas' Kevin Durant. With Nike reportedly ready to offer Durant $30 million to $50 million, Texas coach Rick Barnes said that the NCAA is changing its rule so players can be insured for $20 million instead of the current $10 million. It might not be enough. Quoting unnamed sources, DraftExpress.com reported Saturday that Durant will make himself available for the draft this week.

...
Maybe he won't hire an agent and just test the waters to see where he goes in the mock drafts. I think I just made myself sad.

Brace for the worst
I can't say anything else until late tomorrow afternoon, but start preparing yourself now.
No happy ending, I'm afraid.
Oh well
So what team do we want him on?
Despite the Simmons thing, I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Celtics. I have great memories as a kid watching those classic Celtic teams play.
He's shooting holes in my suits
That's just mean man.
C'mon KD. Stick around just one more year.
