Michigan, Notre Dame Seeking Opponent; Texas In The Mix?
Two readers emailed me this morning with links to this story noting that both the Wolverines and Fighting Irish are seeking opponents for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. I've beaten the "please schedule tougher" horse to death by now, so I won't take the podium for that particular lecture again.
Instead, a quiet sigh of resignation as I note our current schedules for both seasons in question:

You really think Deloss/Mack are going to go out of their way to set up back-to-back weeks with UCLA-Michigan/Notre Dame?
Nuh-uh.
Update [2007-7-25 11:13:30 by HornsFan]: I failed to notice there's already a diary on this topic. Looks like Notre Dame's taking on OU. Doubt it'd happen, but it sure would be nice to get Michigan on the schedule.

I was goint to post something last week
But Michigan fans are already claiming their AD and Texas have a mutual interest in a game. Carr and Mack (wild rumors, I know) are already on board.
The coaching part is interesting, because I'll be surprised if both Mack and Carr are still around to coach. That's another issue though.
Notre Dame already has OU locked up for those years. I would love a trip to Ann Arbor.

Is there any precedence for Michigan to go below the mason dixon line in Septembet?

I'd like to get Wisonsin series cranked up
Never been there, but everyone talks abouthow Madison and Austin are similar...and how much fun a game in Madison is with the 5th Quarter and all.
I think it'd be one hell of a party, that's a given.

Madison is great
Nice scenery, surrounded by lakes, good food, easy to get around and lots of beer. The city has a vibe very similiar to Austin.
A very underappreciated city IMO.

Felt the same
about Minneapolis/St Paul when I visited there in August, then I saw the 10 foot reflectors attached to the water hydrants so the snow plows wont run them over.

Why don't we look at some SEC teams.........
I'd love to play a home and away series with LSU,Florida,Auburn,Tenn. Georgia etc......
We did the Big Ten with tOSU.............

Totally agree...
If you're shopping for a good OOC game, the SEC is where you stop first, IMO. Realistically, Mack probably wouldn't be ok with Florida or LSU, but maybe someone out of the middle. I think it would be cool to see UT vs. UT and call it the Also-Orange Bowl. Although, that's kind of tough for Mack, too, apparently.
