Another Tuesday, another edition of EDSBS LIVE this evening with Orson and I.

Tonight we talk Big 12 football, which means if you've been waiting for the right week to jump into the fray, this is it.

What: EDSBS LIVE online radio. Why listen? Because we're talking Big 12 football, damnit. If not now, then when?

Who: Tonight's special guests are Chip Brown from the Dallas Morning News and Seth J from Double T Nation (Texas Tech). Big. 12. Overload.

Four Questions: As always, our four questions for the night.

1. Who emerges atop the Big 12 scrum this year? I don't need to tell you my choice, do I? I'll save my chatter for the show. You explain your choice.

2. Now take it a step further. Does the winner of the Big 12 play for the BCS Title game this year? I say no. The Big 12 is improved from a season ago, which leads me to believe no one's emerging unscathed. And I don't think a one-loss Big 12 team's headed to New Orleans.

3. If I paid you $500,000 would you permanently move to Nebraska? If not, what's the threshhold? $1,000,000? $10m? For how long would you move to Nebraska for $500,000? I've shunned money for things I like... I'll be damned if you're gonna get me to move to the heartland, where there's winter, and nothing to do. Take, for example, law school. You think I'd apply somewhere like Nebraska? Or South Bend?

Wait a second...

4. Because our show is so dependent on juvenile humor, the obligatory sex question: What's the sexiest mascot in the Big 12? Ah, the delinquent sex question. Do you have a pirate/raider fetish? Collie guy? Maybe you dig the Cowboy? Or you're Baylor-curious?

Scrum

Do you know what a scrum is? It is not something you can finish on top of. It is a highly structured rugby formation, where the linemen interlock arms and support two 'hookers' who use their feet to try to control the ball. (The chaotic pileup you probably mean is called a 'ruck'.)

This isn't the rugby formation, which I'm well aware of.

This is a chaotic situation, involving multiple people. Much more like what Jason's referring to.

There's only one hooker

The front line of a scrum is one hooker hanging on to two props, and they supported by the second row. And if someone collapses the scrum, you can end up on top of it, or much worse, under it.

Rucks on the other hand are a ticket to a world of hurt if you're the one on the ground.

Texas. I think they're better than OU this year, and no one else scares me too much. I think Nebraska has the potential to take it down, but I'm still at the "show me" stage with Callahan & Co.

No. There isn't a game on the schedule that I would pick Texas to lose, but I'm just don't think they have the horses to go undefeated this year. There will probably be at least one upset. OU is too unsettled on offense and Nebraska will lose out of conference to USC.

I'm not ready to settle down permanently anywhere yet, so no amount of money will get me to settle down permanently in Nebraska. That said, I'd gladly move to Nebraska over at least a few other states, including Florida, Louisiana, and California.

3b. I'd have to do a cost-benefit analysis to determine how long I'd live in Nebraska for 500k.

3c. And I know you were joking about South Bend (as you're attending law school at ND), but I agree with your sentiments. Notre Dame was one of the few top 30 ranked law schools that I completely ruled out applying to based on location. I don't even mind cold winters, but Indiana is just..... well, not very appealing. That's as kindly as I can put it.

Ralphie. There's something about a massive, hairy beast crapping wherever it pleases that really gets me going.

i just listened to it. it wasn't as bad as i thought it was when i was saying it. somewhere in the middle of that herbie husker rant i thought to myself, "i think i might be coming off as psychopathic..."
