Countdown To Football Season: 74 Days
Our daily countdown to the return of Texas football continues with yet another reason to love the fall in Austin.

Lest there be any confusion: all this talk of promising to elevate the discourse does not universally apply.
For those who misunderstand, this is a call for smarter football talk than you'll find on the average message board. If you dare, go read the TexAgs forums. It's a sad collection of "tu sucks" and chatter about a game that doesn't exist in reality. It's almost all garbage.
You can find plenty of that on various 'Horns message boards, too. Frankly, though, I like the tone of the conversation around here better. Does that mean we're going to suddenly cease railing on Sooners and Aggies? Of course not.
This is still a fan site, above all else. And have fun, we shall. But when we talk about the actual football, we're going to strive for objectivity as much as possible.
No need to turn in your OU Sucks cards.

thank god
I was starting to worry I would have to put on a suit and tie just to visit this site after the last few posts. ;)
glad
I'm glad I don't have to turn in my "You can't spell c_cks_cker without OU" shirt. I've worn it for the last two wins, and I certainly can't break the winning streak now.

Everytime...
Everytime I see this I smile.
You'd be hard pressed to get me to stop saying bad things or poking fun at A&m and OU. It's to ingrained in my life to stop cold turkey.
so...
OU Sucks
A&m is a bunch of crazies that grabs their nuts.
See too easy. Even in it's most basic form.

Of course
And that party's not over.
What we won't do is say, "Michael Goodson sucks."
'Cause he doesn't. He's freaking terrifying. When he turns the corner, I get nervous...
yup
I feel the same way. I'd like for him to just stay behind the line of scrimmage and not go past it. Ever.
I still wish we could have Bomar'd Bomar a couple more times. It had become part of my language.

i can agree with you on that
i think OU actually improved as a program the day he left.
He had great potential, but he lacked mental toughness, imo.
We'll see what he does in whatever they are now calling D-IAA nowadays.
absolutely
I've had the worst day. My credit card info was stolen and used to but porn that I didn't even have the pleasure of viewing, I'm stuck being deployed to fuckin' Saudi Arabia for ANOTHER 9 months, I have zero access to porn, alcohol or pork while being away from my family and the rest of the western world, flying with the Saudi Air Force sucks my balls, cuz they're a bunch of fuckin' idiots... but seeing shit like this lightens my day and actually brings a smile to my face, cuz I know that they are brighter days ahead. I can't wait to see Longhorn football (even if it's on tape delay) this fall. I look forward to every day's countdown picture, and long for the days when I'll be able to retire from the Air Force and return to the holy land (Austin). It's 10:05 pm (Saudi time) and OU still sucks! God Bless America and Hook 'em Horns!!!!!
Hook 'Em
And just wait for tomorrow's picture...
It'll bring a smile to your day.
Best to you, sir.
Thank you for your service to this great nation!
Keep the heat on those cowardly, chicken-s**t terrorists and return home safely!
It's great to know OU still sucks....even in the desert.
Do you think he is crying because
uncle...dad took his Marlboro Lights away and put them in his back pocket?
Sorry did that go to far?
Dammit!
I actually feel bad for this kid. I was not this passionate about UT football at that age. I do wonder if he was really crying about the game? We had been up for a while at that point. Just the stupid things I wonder about. Pay no attention.
i always thought the story on that kid was
he was 6 years old before OU lost to texas for the first time in his life (2000, '01, '02, '03, '04)?
am I wrong on that?
I read that somewhere. It was on the Internet, so it must be true ;)
Not that I condone child abuse but
the reason he is crying is that as soon as they return home his father is going to take out his frustration on him. The kid figures he might as well get all the crying out of his system because when daddy begins to beat him he is only going to beat him more if he sees him cry. Dehydration sometimes is a good thing.
doubtful
cuz he looks much older than 6

I admit
that I've only been a horn fan since I made the decision to attend UT Law---a mere 3 months ago. Amazingly, I have already begun to hate OU. I've already had to listen to countless annoying Sooner fans crowing about how amazing their recruiting class already is, and how they're a lock to land Arthur Brown, Katoa, Major, etc. These guys almost make Yankee fans seem intelligent and classy in comparison. Almost.

Welcome to the family
It doesn't take long, does it?
Now just wait until your first trip to the Cotton Bowl. You won't know how much you hatred until you've done it.
Not being able to make fun of Aggies
and Sooners or read other people making fun of Aggies and Sooners would be a sad day indeed. So I am quite sure that most of all you have heard about the Aggie that moved to Oklahoma and increased the IQ of both states...
My boss said it best when he stated, "The reason that Texas does not fall into the ocean is because Oklahoma sucks so much."
