I cannot remember any big plays that it gave up and it did perfectly against trick plays.  The only possible complaints I could see is not getting to the QB that much and letting a guy named Jordy catch double digit passes.

I don't know what happened, but Colt just doesn't have it this year.  I've always been really annoyed with fans criticizing him just because he isn't Vince Young,  but he was terrible today.  I'm ready to stick Chiles in there and play like West Virginia.

Obviously the special teams was just hillaiously pathetic.  I think the tackling was terrible on both special teams and defense.  I wouldn't blame the coaches on defense considering the players were usually in position, they just couldn't tackle.

However the tackling drills we are running must be pretty terrible.  Hopefully we can get Greg Robinson back. :/

While we're all in agreement that the decision to let Vince be Vince propelled Texas into a national championship, it's insane to think that decision is the best move Greg Davis has ever made at Texas. Unfortunately the coaching staff needs to make the same decision and get out of the way of the young guys.

There is no doubt in my mind that the underclassmen need to come in and play. Kyle Hix, Tray Allen, Michael Huey, Curtis Brown, Chykie Brown, Aundre McGaskey, Jared Norton. Especially the offensive linemen.

Lamaar Houston and Eddie Jones were forced to play because there was simply nobody else at defensive end. Houston is probably the defensive MVP of the team. He's been a beast and Jones has played pretty damn well. Is it unreasonable to think the other guys can't play at the same level?

Sure, they'll make mistakes. Texas might even lose some because of those mistakes. I'd rather those guys get some experience this season, right now, because what I saw on the field today doesn't make me think there will be any sacrifices as far as wins/losses. Lose because of youth or you lose because of subpar play. Take your pick.

KSU was a lot faster than we are...

Is a mediocre coach. He should give his $100,000 bonus to the Wounded Warrier project--they need it and deserve it.

1. The O-line was absolutely horrid tonight.  The D-line didn't look much better.

2. I don't see how you can feel any relief about our play or the upcoming OU game.  We're still very much in a position to win the Big XII South (relief in itself) which makes next week's game all that much more important.  So what's going to happen?  At this point, I can't say I trust Mack to make the necessary changes.  He'll talk about the tweaks and changes they need to work on over the course of the week, but when the Horns take the field next Saturday, I can't help but think we'll see the exact same things we've been seeing all year.  Only after we have absolutely nothing else to lose will we see any kind of modifications.

All that being said, here's hoping we go into Dallas and just whoop the shit out of OU.  Hook'em.

That pretty much sums up UT football over the past four years.  VY is either there to propel us to tough, high-stakes victories or we lose.  

We refuse to play our best players b/c of some sort of senior loyalty.  Muck and Norton are great players.  Best to keep them on the bench!  Terrible use (non-use) of Chiles and the running game as a whole.  We have no semblance of a calculated gameplan or identity.  We miss tackles; we drop passes; we let one guy kill us all day long; we telegraph plays.  Our special teams were special today in all the wrong ways.  

Next week we lose the Big 12 South and start playing for pride and hopefully the Alamo Bowl.  Next year???  Um, no.

This is not a good team primarily b/c it is poorly coached (I actually hope this is true b/c that can be fixed).  Being pissed and in reactionary mode and living in the land of fairy tales, I say dump GD and bring in Applewhite as the OC next year.  Get Robinson back from Syracuse and back into the DC seat.  Whatever "exotic" blitzing Akina and McDuff dreamed up - SUCKS!

Whatever, I'm going to go puke now.  This is what it must feel like to be an A&M fan.

The offense was absolutely putrid.  Poor scheme, poor execution, terrible decision making, horrible offensive line play.

But say what you will about the defense, they actually played pretty well.  There were some instances of sloppy tackling, I'll agree.  However, aside from the opening drive for K-State, they held them in check.

The other offensive touchdown came after a touchdown where K-State started on the Texas 30.  Less than 300 yards, no big plays, and only 20 points given up.  The other field goals came after excellent field position, too.

With our offense, that should definitely be enough.

Unfortunately it was the punt return and the kickoff return.

Did this game remind anyone of the 1999 game?  How many INTs did Major have in that one? 5, 6?  The Daily Texan headline was "Apple Turnover."  K State had some nifty punt returns in that game too.

I am also a little confused about Mac saying in a post-game interview that we went out in the 3rd quarter and took control of the game.  Your offense doesn't take control of a game by having the quarterback scramble around because of broken plays, no matter how many yards you gain.  You control the game by executing your plays with toughness and efficiency and we did not do that in the 3rd quarter.  We were outcoached and outplayed, its that simple.

You figure that Mack and the coaching staff let the team down.  As ugly as it was, I find three things very unpalatable at this point.

1)Jordy Nelson in 2007 = Anthony Gonzalez in 2006.  Simply unacceptable.

2)2 returns for TDs.  Special teams should be much better than this with all of the great talent we supposedly have.

3)Colt playing post-concussion.  If it took you ALL of half-time to figure out if the kid should play...then he SHOULDN'T have.   As a doctor and a former concussion-sufferer...I am simply APPALLED by this decision.   Between letting him play hurt last year at A&M and this...it'll be a wonder if the kid survives his college career.  They're going to get him killed.
