"Franklin Spurns Lifelong Favorite" ($)

So says Sooner Scoop's Josh McCuistion: the Marshall linebacker will head to OU, "spurning" Texas. More bad recruiting news, so what else is new? Franklin will no doubt enjoy getting run all over the field by Darius Terrell from the flex tight end position. You're getting no help from your coach, buddy. Have fun. Breaking down to the pure choice between Venables, Chizik-like in his inability to adjust or Coach Boom, why not Muschamp? Yes, I'm a little bitter. More on this later in the weekend and best of luck to Franklin at OU -- he handled the process with maturity, but it can't feel anything but a little bit traitorous when a Texas kid heads north of the Red River when he could have been a Longhorn.

No. 20! -- Adrian White Chooses Texas ($)

As mentioned over in the FanPosts, DeSoto cornerback Adrian White became the 20th commitment in the 2010 football class when he announced on Geoff Ketchum's radio show that he will be attending Texas. Though it was a coincidence that White ended up in Austin today with the DeSoto basketball team making the state semifinals, White's decision was not particularly surprising, as many had predicted him to be the first commit in the class. Other speculation also swirled in the last month that White was a silent commitment, but wanted to wait to make sure of his decision. The word on White has been that he is the best man-to-man corner in the state, but as I've learned more information about him, there are some definite inconsistent performances that undermine that assumption. I won't have a chance to sort those out for several days, but expect a full report on White by the end of the weekend. Hook 'Em!

Wilson Close to Decision ($)

Reggie Wilson, Haltom's stud defensive end and native of the Ivory Coast, will announce his decision in a formal announcement at his school within the next month, likely after his school's spring break, according to his high school coach. The final three under consideration are Texas, Oklahoma, and TCU, with Wilson declining to conduct interviews until the announcement, making it hard to determine the leader, though Texas is certainly in good shape. If he decides he wants weather similar to his native country, Austin seems like the easy choice, though academics are professedly more important for Wilson.
