If you're bored, here is the Texas vs Okie State game in 2007, where we came back from 24 down in the fourth to win it. Not sure why I wanted to watch this again, but it was amusing. Video quality isn't great though. A few notable things: -This was easily Colt's roughest year, yet his QB play is light years ahead of what we've seen the past two. -Jamaal Charles is really fast. His 75 yard run in the fourth is one of my favorites. -Huge drops in the second half from both Cosby and Shipley. Nobody is perfect. -Texas gained over 300 yards in one quarter after having only like 270 after three. All three 4th quarter touchdown drives went the length of the field, so it's not like the Pokes were doing stupid things and gifting the Horns with good field position. -Mack Brown looked almost guilty we won that game, similar to how Nick Saban was decidedly unexcited about the Bluegrass Miracle. Probably not the type of win most coaches want.

Cosby in battle to make Bengals roster.

Despite his heroics, Quan is in a real battle to make the squad. Good luck Quan. I just KNOW he will be a good pro.

Quan to the Bengals, Dockery to the Saints

Congrats to Quan and Cedric. Best of luck to them in the coming months earning a spot on an NFL roster. The linked blog, NEPatriotsdraft.com, is doing a great job of posting all of the unsigned FA activity in one place. Joe Reedy, a Cincinnati Enquirer reporter broke the Quan signing via his twitter account. Dockery was picked up by the Saints.

Quan's a sleeper

While some draft experts and the media are quick to doubt Texas WR Quan Cosby because he's only 5-foot-9, they're truly missing the big picture. Cosby has three important attributes that are going to help his chances of success in the NFL—quickness, great hands and maturity. As I watched him at the Senior Bowl earlier this year, he was consistently converting poorly thrown balls into catches. It didn't matter if the ball was thrown too high, too low, or behind him. Cosby kept pulling them in. I honestly can't recall seeing him drop a pass. His body control and concentration on the football was simply that good.

Any physical stats for football players are suspect to some degree. I've even known coaches to fudge downwards, but for the same reasons as some enhance their players sizes and times.  One of the...
