Apparently a last-ditch attempt by Les Miles to woo Galena Park North Shore lineman Sedrick Flowers to LSU by giving him a shot at playing on the defensive side of the ball was not enough to secure his services. Inside Texas is reporting that Flowers has given his commitment to the Texas Longhorns, joining Josh Cochran, Taylor Doyle, and Marcus Hutchins in the offensive line class of 2011.
Flowers is almost certainly an interior line candidate and though he could be described as a mauler because of his absolute tenacity and desire to maul his opponents, he's also extremely athletic. A former teammate of Trey Hopkins, Flowers is the most highly-rated offensive lineman currently committed and is a consensus top-10 player in the state.
