I have officially jumped off the college football bandwagon after this season. I was starting to love college football waaaaay more than the NFL, but then a season like this happened and I don't even understand how people can honestly justify championships in college. When Texas won in 2005, it was uncontested and obvious...so it worked out. 2005 happened to be one of the only uncontested championships ever in college football. The thing that bothers me is that there doesn't seem to be any motivation from people that matter trying to fix college football. I know they don't have any motivation because they would lose a few dollars making a college football championship more efficient. I hope that a few people would be willing to lose a few dollars in order to keep the integrity and purity of the game alive.

The BCS system is so pitiful that players are leaving early to the NFL just because the system is such garbage.

I am so proud of this Texas football team, and I hope the BCS doesn't screw them. I'm almost 100% sure that ou will get to play in the Big 12 Championship game even though TEXAS BEAT THEM BY 10 POINTS ON A NEUTRAL FIELD. I know the obvious facts don't matter when it comes to the BCS, but this is the first time I remember Texas really getting screwed by the system. It hurts.

The Good:

-Texas is still #2 in front of ou after beating down Tech.

-If Texas plays well against a&m Thursday on national television, they can win some votes back.

-Mack will start lobbying after they beat a&m on Thursday.

-I heard some coaches don't participate in the coaches poll until the final ballot (may hurt or help).

-The computers seem to love Texas

-Texas will atleast get the Fiesta Bowl if they do get screwed. I don't really see a difference in the Fiesta Bowl and the Holiday Bowl. The only difference is the school gets more money, but I don't know how it benefits the players in any way. Another reason a playoff is the obvious answer.

The Bad:

-The importance of the Red River Rivalry is obiously diminishing, because Texas beat ou by 10 points and ou is about to pass them in the BCS.

-Texas might beat a&m Thursday, but a&m may still beat Texas in a way by simply being a crappy team. A win against a&m won't help them at all in the BCS unless they can win some human votes.

-It might rain on Thursday night, which may hurt the style points that are much needed against a&m.

Extra stuff:

It shouldn't matter how much you beat opponents by or who you played if the team your trying to pass beat you by 10 points. The only time it should matter is if you haven't played a team, and your trying to convince people why your team should be ahead of a team that you haven't played.

The Texas fans must have DKR rockin' Thursday night.

COLT FOR HEISMAN!

It seems to me like Colt is starting to look like 2007 Colt. He has thrown 5 INT's in 3 games. I hope Colt gets it together fast, because the injuries are starting to stack up and Texas can't afford to give away free points. I think he'll be fine, but he has to make better decisions sometimes. The offense has looked a little tired to me the past two games, I hope they wake up soon.

Has anybody heard the status of Ulatowski? T. Hills got hurt against Tech last year, and a&m tore the o-line up the next game. When will Orakpo, and Houston be back? Acho is a big step down from Orakpo when it comes to pass rushing . When is Chykie Brown going to be healthy?

McGee looks like he's running the ball better now than he did at the beginning of the year. I still think Fozzy is the RB of the future by far, and should get the majority of the snaps.

It seems to me that the winner of the Tech/ou game will play in the Big 12 championship game. If Texas wins out, they will play in the Fiesta Bowl if Tech/ou play in the national championship game. The good news is it seems that if Texas wins out, they will get one of the BCS games (I will be pissed if ou passes UT in the polls).

Is it possible that Texas goes 11-1, and gets the Holiday Bowl again? If that happens, it could be the final straw for a lot of people who are fans of college football. I personally think Texas will play in the Sugar Bowl. If Texas does get screwed by the BCS, I think they will play in the Cotton Bowl.

Texas has one of the toughest schedules in the country, and they beat ou by 10 points on a neutral field. I can't see how it would be possible to put ou in a BCS game and leave Texas out. Texas played the best Big 12 north team, and won easily. The only loss they have was a BS loss in a road game where they lost with 1 second left.

I keep reading that if there is a three way tie, that Texas won't get in the Big 12 championship game. Last week I read on espn that if there was a 3 way tie, Texas WOULD get the tiebreaker especially if Missouri wins out. I don't think anybody really knows!

The only thing Texas can do is win out, and let the football gods do the rest. If Texas finishes 11-1, Mack needs to make his speech after the a&m game reminding the country that they beat ou by 10 on a neutral field, and went 11-1 with one of the toughest schedule in the country.BCS

What does everyone think about next years team now? Cosby and Shipley will be gone. The entire D-Line except Houston (maybe) will be gone. The D-Line is pretty deep at the end position, but I don't know about the loss of Orakpo. Muschamp is already the target of some teams to be their next head coach. I think we'll still be a great team, but Mack has to find a D-coor. with the same (or close) intensity as Muschamp. The O-Line will be great, and the LB's should be as well. Colt will be back, but will he have anybody to throw the ball to? I don't know if the younger WR's are taking awhile to develop, or are Shipley and Cosby hogging all the balls!

Is there any chance Muschamp stays? I hope so!

Where is Jarvis Humphrey? I thought he would be getting a lot of playing time this year since the depth at DT is slim.

Why do C. Dockery and Huey rotate? Is one a better run blocker than the other? Or a better pass blocker?

Who does UT have a GOOD shot at that is left on the recruiting board? Kennard and McFarland would satisfy me for the 2009 year! Is Loston interested?

I was wondering if anybody had information on C. Michael, J. Mcfarland, Loston, R. Sheppard, D. Kirkpatrick, or G. Lynn? I think LSU will land Loston and Sheppard (RS already commited, but UT is still trying-depends on how well the Q package works?) McFarland is a MUST right now. G. Lynn will more than likely commit to an SEC school. D. Kirkpatrick really likes Muschamp, but I don't see him playing so far away from home. C. Michael hasn't even been offered from Texas, but I think Texas is devoted to the Temple star next year (L. Seastrunk). I'm sorry if I spelled any prospects name wrong, but I'm not familiar enough to do so yet!

The only prospect I think Texas has a REAL shot at landing is J. Mcfarland. I think R. Sheppard is still intersted in Texas, and if he changes his decision....then Loston might come too! Texas has to get the Q-package working fast in Big 12 play to have a chance at RS and Loston!

The Blaine Irby injury might throw a twist in the recruiting battle. Texas is very thin at TE now.

I think this game was a preview of what every game in the Big 12 is going to look like this year. I don't think the defenses are really that bad, but the offenses are just that GOOD! The deciding factor in most games will probably be who turns the ball over the least, or who gets the ball last.

Great offenses: Missouri, ou, tech

Good offenses: Texas, Okie State, Nebraska, Kansas

Average offenses: Baylor (R. Griffin), a&m, Kansas State, Colorado

Bad offenses: Iowa State

Orangebloods.com has revealed that Mack will be suspending Lamar Houston for the UTEP game only. I'm happy with the suspension. I'm a fan of letting the judicial system punishing people, not a head coach of a football team.

Uh oh! I am officially worried now. I was expecting Fozzy to be THE MAN for us a RB, and now he is injured. I am excited that Texas pretty much has no choice but to go back to the power backs with V. Mcgee, C. Johnson, and Chris O. I think Texas is a better team when using the power RB's. Hopefully this will be the launching pad for Cody Johnson and V. Mcgee.
