dre kirkpatrick

As the Texas Longhorns look to put the finishing touches on their 2009 recruiting class, one prospect that is suddenly very much in the picture is Gadsden City Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. The five-star cornerback visited Austin over the weekend and came away raving about the city of Austin, the Longhorn coaching staff and the potential opportunity to suit up in burnt orange. On ESPN Austin radio this afternoon, Orangebloods.com publisher Geoff Ketchum caught up with Kirkpatrick during his show "The Drive" to get a first-person account of the visit.

Jamarkus McFarland and were he stands

Defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland has had his list narrowed to three schools for the past several weeks, but the five-star prospect still knows how to keep people guessing. Last weekend, it was again Texas' chance to make its mark when McFarland stopped by the Forty Acres for a visit during the Horns' Orange-White game. What kind of impression did Texas make? We talked to McFarland to get an update.

mason walters wearing burnt orange

What a weekend for the Longhorns. The Texas basketball team is shooting for the Final Four, and on Saturday night the football team picked up a commitment from yet another blue-chip prospect. Wolfforth (TX) Frenship Mason Walters, regarded as the top offensive line prospect in the state of Texas, officially chose Texas on Saturday night, becoming the Longhorns' fifth commitment from the Rivals100.---Rivals.com

wow did not see this coming with all of the prospects that attended the orange and white game i thought he would be the least possible one to commit.... could texas possible have the overall best recruiting class in 2009?

With 17 in the bag they already lead the nation with a long shot with USC and Ohio State tied for second with 10 a piece... i really wish i could fast foward about 2 or 3 years and then see whats up

QB to switch commitment to LSU

Tupelo, Mississippi quarterback Chris Garrett has been contemplating switching his commitment from Mississippi State to LSU for weeks and this morning he informed Les Miles that he would be a Tiger.

thats a quick note from rivals.com. So the first thing that all of yall think about when you here something bout LSU is Shepperd. If Miles brings in a "pure" qb like Garrett, what does that leave Shepperd thinking with his spot for the qb position.

so i found this website today and being the longhorn fan that i am, i jumped right into it after reading some of the "diary's" and noticing that there are actually people who know what there talking about, opposed to other blogs.. so my first question is this..

given the current list of verbal commits, the latest ending in a.okafor... if you could only choose one prospect besides mcfarland, or c. wood who would it be?

Tell me which recruiting site's you currently go by.. i currently go by Rivals.com, scout.com, and espn.com... if there are any better iyop feel free to post
