2007 Season broken down, 2008 preview

Reading some other blogs and i came across this, an unbeleivable statistical breakdown of out Texas Longhorns.

I know this probably worthy of tha fanshot but i thought i would go a little more mainstream with a fanpost. Beleive it or not we hould have won the KSU game last season by  7 points according to this statistical analysis this guy runs.

Sounds like he is a Mizzou fan that is very well knowledged in Texas football.

Most Hated Teams

This may not be as good as one of ESPN's "Dumb Contests" but i thought this was a cool article that would generate some discusion.

Mark Schlabach put together his top ten most hated teams in college football. Texas comes in at seven, two spots lower then OU.

This got me thinking, who do i hate the most. Oklahoma, A&M and, Tech are obvious ones, but here is my list of "non-conference" most hated teams.

1. USC- After sportscenter ran the greatest of all time (dumb) contest before the Rose Boal, and the Matt Leinart interview directly after, I began to really hate this team.

2. LSU- This team is always good and it seems they continue to recruit in Texas very well. Put together those two things and it makes it easy to hate this team.

3. Florida- Part of it might be that i am tired of hearing how good the SEC is but i just have never like this team.

4. Miami- Even though they have had some down years, this team was USC 5 years ago.

5. Boston College- This might be kind of random but they seem to be over-hyped alot last year. I also just got tired of hearing how good Matt Ryan is.

Oklahoma would easily top this list. A&M would be about 3 i think and Tech would finish it up at 5.

Texas predicted to win Big 12. Lose in national Title game

Ok well not really predicted, more just a simulation. IGN ran a simulation on NCAA 09. The Horns ended up ranked number 1 in the BCS but lost to Wisconsin in the championship game

I love Nike!

This is great!

Byrne also addressed the Aggies' move last year from Nike to adidas as the department's apparel provider.

He said he met with a Nike representative and requested the same deal as A&M's chief rival, Texas.

Byrne said he was offended when the rep told him, "You're not as good as they are and you're probably never going to be." That statement made Byrne's decision to switch to adidas even easier, he said, in addition to what was a more lucrative deal.

This is the full article. Talks about A&M renovating there stadium. The Quoted part is at the bottom. Enjoy!

Baseball Falls 31-12

Thats not a football score its baseball.

The 31 runs allowed were the most ever by a Texas squad.

Texas and Missouri play game two of the three-game series Saturday at 2 p.m.

Stat of the game, Crow The Mizzou pitcher allowed nine runs and still got the victory.

Yikes!

Dangerous Tourney Teams

Tonight I watched Louisville beat Notre Dame. Two teams that have been very hot of late and both looked poised to make a run in the tournament and i would not like to see either of these teams in the Longhorn's side of the bracket. So i got to thinking what other teams would i not like to see texas face in the second or third round, other than the obvious powerhouses or teams that we have played in the regular season. Kind of like USC last year.

Poll
Which of these teams would you least like to play?
  • Pitt
  • Other
  • Louisville
  • Vandy
  • UConn
  • Purdue
  • Indiana
  • Stanford
