Despite the atrocity of Saturday night, there's still some reason to celebrate.
Why? Burnt Orange Nation turned one year old on Sunday. We've come a long way since our humble beginnings over on Blogger, when we were All Things Longhorn. When we migrated over to Sports Blog Nation one year ago, we weren't sure what to expect.
It's been nothing short of an outstanding first year. The reason we moved to Sports Blog Nation was because we thought the site designs gave us a unique opportunity to build a real fan community around the Longhorns. The site was intended to be, and has truly become, a forum not just for us to talk to you, but for all of us to interact. We consider many of our long-time BONers to be our friends, and we learn as much from you as you do from us.
And the party's just getting started, and getting bigger by the day. We've had 540,000 visitors stop by BON in the past year, and y'all have clicked and refreshed your way to 1.7 million page views during that time. October was our biggest month to date, with 90,000+ visitors and 275,000 page views. In short: there's a whole lot of us around nowadays, which only makes the community stronger, and the symphony of outstanding voices louder. We couldn't be more pleased with how things are going, and we're looking forward to an even better year than our first one.
Most of all, we just want to say thank you to each and every one of you. We do this because, like you, we love the 'Horns. Win or lose, we love 'em. And it's a hell of a lot of fun to live and die with these teams with you guys.
