Many of us saw Texas' last second loss to Michigan State last night. I want to talk about Texas' second-to-last possession, the one where Abrams took a quick shot from the top of the key and missed.
Now we certainly shouldn't disparage Abrams or Rick Barnes because of that shot. We certainly wouldn't if Abrams had hit it, which he very well could have done, but my question for you is why. Why do you think Kevin Durant didn't get the ball and a chance at the play? Was it simply because he wasn't performing well in the second half and the coaches trusted Abrams more to come through in the clutch. Was Abrams so confident that he could make that three that he decided to take it early in the shot clock?
Discuss.
