The #25 Horns (4-1) return to action tonight after a week off against Texas Southern (1-4) 7 PM at the Erwin Center.
The Tigers will be playing their fifth road game of the year. They have failed to achieve a victory in any of the previous four with losses at Lamar, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Alabama.
Texas Southern has had trouble scoring points this season. They have yet to score more than 70 points in any game and have just two players averaging more than 10 ppg. Texas Southern will present a second straight undersized opponent for the Horns. No Tiger starter stands taller than 6'8" Chris Moore. Texas should have no trouble dominating the glass on either end.
This is the last tuneup before a Saturday matchup with #21 Gonzaga in Phoenix. Like the Nicholls State game, this one won't be close. Coach Barnes will be looking to limit turnovers, control dribble penetration, dominate the glass, and establish a low post presence (Damion James, Dexter Pittman, or Kevin Durant). I'll say Horns 94-58.
Head out to the Erwin Center if you are in Austin. The game will be televised by Fox Sports SW in Texas only.
