Ashley Engle dominated the Badgers. |
Engle was perhaps the brightest star last night, collecting 12 kills in the match in what was a near-record attack night for Texas. The Gazelles finished with an attack percentage of .398. For some perspective, Wisconsin finished with a 0.0 attack percentage.
And speaking of domination, with the sweep, Texas has now run off 9 straight victories in the NCAA tournament to knock out Praire View A&M, Stephen F. Austin, and Wisconsin.
The Gazelles hope to keep riding the momentum that they've enjoyed playing in Austin. Said head coach Jerritt Elliott after last night's win, "We love playing at home. I could say it a million times and it still wouldn?t do it justice. We have the greatest fans, and we love playing in front of them. I think it?s good for us that we?re home tomorrow because we really love the atmosphere here."
Horns fans can go support the Gazelles at Gregory Gymnasium tonight at 5:30. Tickets are available at the door, as well as the Texas Box Office online. For those not able to attend, the match will be televised on ESPNU.
