Kevin Durant became both the first freshman and first ever Longhorn to be named the Player of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Speaking of K-Smooth, the list of pledges is a growing, impressive list, but there are almost 2,000 registered users at this site, and only 100 or so comments. Those of you who haven't made your pledge yet, do it. . . Don't kid yourself, Kevin will see this list of pledges eventually. Someone already posted a link on his Facebook page, so step up and make your pledge.

And by the way, don't forget that there's an army of people out there who really want Kevin to leave Texas for the NBA. As of yesterday, ESPN Page 2 is running this cute banner:

Gee, I wonder who made them do that?  (Like I said: make your pledge.)

The Longhorn baseball team (20-7, 3-0) won their seventh straight game on Tuesday, coming from behind to beat Texas State 5-3. Kyle Walker started for Texas and struggled (again) mightily in the first, but the relief behind him was superb. Austin Wood gave Texas 5 2/3 innings of one-run baseball, and Randy Boone slammed the door shut on the back end with 5 strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings pitched. Russell Moldenhauer homered for the Longhorns.

Sweet 16 action tips tonight around 6:10 p.m., and Double T Nation has your first look at the matchups. The full BON previews and picks are forthcoming.
