Barnes Gets $200k Raise

New, comments

The University of Texas Regents voted to approve a $200,000 raise for Texas basketball coach Rick Barnes. The vote increases Barnes' salary to just over $2 million per season, making him the Big 12's highest paid coach.

Texas athletic director Deloss Dodds said the raise will ensure Barnes remains in the top five to ten highest paid coaches in the country.

AW and I were pretty nervous that Rick would leave Austin for Kentucky, but once the storm passed, Andrew made an excellent point when he reminded me that Rick was offered and turned down the NC State job last year. If he wasn't going to go there last year, he's probably not going to go anywhere anytime soon.
