EDSBS LIVE Goes To Paradise

Another Tuesday, another edition of EDSBS LIVE this evening with Orson and I.

Tonight we tip our caps to paradise by talking University of Hawaii, Colt Brennan and the WAC.

What: EDSBS LIVE online radio. WAC/Nirvana edition.

Where: At NowLive, where you can chat with each other and the show hosts throughout the broadcast in the online forum (which has gotten damn lively). To phone in to the show, just call (310) 984-7600.

Who: Tonight's special guest is Matt Hinton; better known as the Sunday Morning Quarterback. Matt's gonna prep us for a conference that's got two premier teams at the top - Boise State and Hawaii. Just how good is Colt Brennan, anyway?

Four Questions: As always, our four questions for the night.

1. What year was paradise for your team? It's gotta be 1969 or 2005 for the Longhorns, but since the former precedes my birth by a decade, it's a no-brainer for me. Plus, Rose Bowl. Ending a 34-game win streak. Vince Young. I was there. Vince Young. VINCE YOUNG!

2. What does your gameday utopia look like? I think my ideal gameday looks a lot like the biggest, baddest tailgates you see, minus all the crowd.

So, yeah, I still want you to roast that entire hog overnight. Yup, 50 pounds of crawfish. Two kegs? Let's make it three. A live band? The Gourds, please. If we're in Texas, I'll need some shade, so let's pitch a tent big enough for me and my pals to play bumper cars with riding lawn mowers. Like everyone else, I enjoy the spunk of the Texas Pom Squad, so if we could get them dancing on the stage with the Gourds, that'd be super.

And, most important, this thing's invite only. So no more than a couple dozen of my closest to get ready for the game. It's a night game, you realize. And Texas wins. Over OU. In Austin. By 70.

Is that too much to ask?

3. Describe the perfect game - situation and score. I think I answered this with #2. 41-38 was hard to beat, of course.

4. What's your favorite show/movie/book that has to do with Hawaii? Don't even try to bring up Michener; I know you're lying if you do.

I'm gonna cheat a little bit and go with Lost. Filming it there is close enough for me.

See you tonight at 6:30.
