Russell To Return

Orangebloods is reporting ($) that Kyle Russell will be returning to Texas for his junior season. The right field slugger set the Texas single season record for home runs in 2007 with 28. He was drafted in the fourth round of this June's Major League Baseball Draft by the Cardinals after having expected to be drafted in the late first round or early second round. Russell reportedly sought first round money to sign, and it looks like the Cardinals weren't willing to meet his threshold.

So, Russell will be back for a junior campaign and try to up his draft stock for next year. Great news for the Longhorn baseball team.
