Texas made a big impression on 6-6 shooting guard Sylven Landesberg during a recent trip to Austin. As first reported at Rivals ($), the New York city guard made an impromptu visit to Austin, with both him and his father coming away wowed.
"I'm exhausted. We all are. We were so enamored with Texas. It's the most impressive school we've ever been to. The coach was impressive. If he wanted to sell me a toaster oven, I would have returned home with a case of them. They make a good cake in Texas, so to speak," Mr. Landesberg said. "The trip helped Texas without a doubt. We didn't know a lot about Texas or have anyone to call and ask questions, so all I could do was Google the school and the coach and learn. Then when we went there and looked at the school, it was phenomenal, we were all overwhelmed."
Not half-bad, Rick. Not half-bad.
Rivals is also reporting that Landesberg is looking closely at St. Johns, Virginia, and Georgia Tech, but Texas is clearly at or near the top of the list right now. Landesberg would give Texas some much needed length on the wing were he to join the Longhorns.
Landesberg is ranked as the country's #38 prospect in the 2008 class by Rivals.
