To borrow a phrase that Augie borrowed from Tommy Harmon, Texas baseball's Kiddie Corps of newbies came through in a big way Friday night. Texas fell behind early, went ahead big, and hung on for dear life for the 8-6 win.

Friday night's biggest heroes were Cameron Rupp, Brandon Workman and Cole Green. Workman and Green (who apparently will not be starting Sunday) combined to pitch 6 innings, giving up two runs on six hits while sriking out seven. Starter Austin Wood only lasted 2 innings, giving up 4 runs (3 earned).

Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 3rd, Cameron Rupp went yard to give Texas the 5-4 lead. He did it again in the bottom of the 5th to give Texas an 8-4 lead. Stayton Thomas got the final two outs on a double play ground ball for the save.

Texas looks to win its first conference series today at 2 PM.
