Your schedule of events for today in Oklahoma City includes Texas' bracket only:
- 3:00 PM: Texas vs. Kansas
- 7:30 PM: Kansas State vs. Baylor
We erroneously reported yesterday that Texas would play K-State in Game Two; that game is actually slated for Saturday.
Since the Big XII uses a ridiculous and asinine round-robin format for the conference tournament, Texas is still very much alive for the tournament title. In order to get there, though, they'll have to accomplish twice what they failed to do even once during the regular season: defeat a team from Kansas. The Longhorns will play the Jayhawks today and the Wildcats on Saturday. Should they win both contests, as long as Baylor loses at least once Texas will advance to Sunday's championship game by virtue of being the highest seed.
Whether it gets them to the chamipnship game or not, though, it is important for Texas to win at least one of the next two. The Longhorns have already earned a top-eight national seed in our eyes, but it would tempt fate indeed to start the postseason with three losses to teams they ought to beat.
