Unfortunately, Real Life is affecting the amount of time that this weekend's preview gets. And despite the rain the teams are still looking at a first pitch of 6:05 PM Friday night. It's baseball against the Aggies and it's always fun to beat the Aggies, so we'll do a few baseball bullet points.

  • Texas ranks 9th and the Ags rank 26th in the first official RPI of the season.
  • The Longhorns bring their nine game win streak into the weekend, which is one of the most fun traditions in college baseball. Due to a three-way arrangement with Baylor, home fans get to see at least one game against both the Aggies and the Bears each season as the three squads play Friday nights at one stadium and then finish the series at the other. This year, it's A&M's turn to host Texas twice, so tonight's contest is in Austin and available through online video. Tomorrow and Sunday are in College Station and on TV--tomorrow on FSN and Sunday on Fox College Sports.
  • There's another streak involved this weekend: that would be the Aggies' three-game losing skid. A&M suffered two losses in Waco after picking up the W in College Station last Friday against Baylor, and then lost their mid-week contest 6-1 to TCU. The Aggies enter the weekend at 6-5-1 in conference play and 20-11-1 overall.
