[UPDATE: Cole Green gets his second straight complete game shutout (no-no into the 6th) and Cameron Rupp hits a first inning 3-run homer for the second straight game as Texas wins 5-0. The win pushes Texas' winning streak to 15 games, nearly matching the 16 straight won by the 2005 Horns to start the season, and lowers the team's ERA to 2.28. If the ERA were doubled to 4.56 that would be good for 49th in the country. Texas goes for another sweep tomorrow at 1 PM. Maybe somebody from the bullpen will pitch.]
Taylor Jungmann pitched his first complete game of the season and finally got some run support in an easy 14-1 victory over Oklahoma State on Friday. Cameron Rupp drove in 5 runs including a 3-run dinger and Kevin Keyes drove in 2 more. The Horns have now outscored their opponents an astounding 57-3 over the last four games of the now 14 game winning streak. Only Arkansas can claim to be playing baseball at a level approaching the Texas baseball team right now. Kansas State was rained out last night so Texas' lead in the conference jumped to 3 games.
Texas goes for the series victory today with Cole Green at 2 PM and it makes a little more sense to combine efforts on a baseball/draft open thread. We can call it the Texas Sports Saturday Open Thread. Hunter Lawrence, Roderick Muckelroy, Adam Ulatowski, Charlie Tanner and Chris Hall could all go today in rounds 4-7.
