Texas Baseball Beats ULL 4-2, Advances To Regional Final

Cole Green returned to form against ULL going 7+ IP with 2 ERs and picking up a win in the 4-2 Texas victory. The win gives the Horns a huge advantage heading into Sunday's regional final as the winner of Rice/ULL must beat Taylor Jungmann Sunday night. The story of the night began in the 8th inning with Texas holding a precarious 3-1 lead. Green put runners on first and second before turning the game over to Chance Ruffin. Ruffin gave up a bunt single on a defensive miscommunication followed by a sacrifice fly to bring ULL within a run. The sac fly would be the last ball Ruffin allowed to be put in play as he struck out the next five batters he faced shutting the door for the 4-2 win in 16 fewer innings than last year's 25-inning affair against Boston College. Kevin Keyes was the hero offensively, going 3-4 with a homer.

Rice and ULL will play an elimination game tomorrow at 1 PM followed by the championship game at 6:30 PM.
