College Basketball Rankings: Texas Longhorns Rise to No. 2 in Coaches Poll, No. 3 in AP

The University of Texas men's basketball continued its ascent in the national college basketball rankings, rising in Coaches Polls to No. 2 this week after cruising past Oklahoma 68-52 in Norman and then handling Baylor 69-60 in Austin. The Longhorns are ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll.

Ranked No. 3 in both polls heading into the week, Texas elevates to the No. 2 spot in the Coaches Poll, just behind new No. 1 Kansas, whom the Longhorns defeated in Lawrence earlier this season, the Jayhawks only loss of the year. Kansas received 14 of the 31 first-place coaches votes, while Texas picked up 13. Ohio State hung on to three first place votes, while No. 4 Pittsburgh received one.

Wednesday night Texas will host Oklahoma State in Austin before traveling on Saturday to Lincoln to take on Nebraska.
