Texas improved to 4-0 in conference play with a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma State on Friday. The game's lone run came in the top of the 15th inning on a straight steal of home by freshman Mark Payton. Taylor Jungmann pitched his third 9 inning outing of the season (9 IP, 4 H, 7 K, 113 pitches) and Corey Knebel (4 IP, 2 H, 3 K) and Kendal Carrillo were very solid in relief. In the 'it's a crying shame someone had to take a loss tonight' category, Oklahoma State reliever Chris Marlowe had a Sam Stafford like outing, going 6.2 innings while giving up just two hits and striking out 12. Marlowe did walk five Longhorns, including a critical walk of Payton to lead off the 15th.
The Horns (16-5) have now won 11 of their last 12 and are on roughly the same pace as the previous two years. Hoby Milner looks to rebound from a rough Saturday start last week against fellow southpaw Andrew Heaney. First pitch is 2 PM and this can be your open thread as the Horns go for the series win.
