After losing a tough series against strong Oklahoma State pitching and terrible weather in Stillwater, Texas hopes to get back into the W column tonight when they host Oral Roberts at 6:00 CDT. As the Texas Sports preview points out, the 3-2 loss to ORU last season keyed a 21-game winning streak. So...win or lose tonight, there will be plenty to be excited about.

Sam Stafford is on the hill tonight, and a somewhat shaky outing by Cole Green Sunday at OSU (followed by a disastrous seventh inning from the bullpen) may open the door for him to creep back into contention for a weekend starting slot with a solid game tonight. Hoby Milner acquitted himself beautifully in the Longhorns' Saturday loss wherein Texas simply couldn't score to save their lives, so he seems safe for another week.

Oral Roberts comes in with an 8-9 overall record, but they have hung tough with some serious competition this year. Their most recent ranked opponent was Arizona State, and the Golden Eagles made ASU sweat a little in Tempe: after losing the Friday game 5-1, they blew a late lead to lose 4-3 Saturday before picking up a victory on the way out of town by a 5-2 score. They are, however, coming off a 2-0 weekend sweep at the hands of Missouri State.
