Oklahoma was one of the top teams in the NCAA's preseason polls and their 16-0 start seemed to suggest they were indeed one of the nation's best. Of course that was all accomplished against one of college baseball's weakest schedules, and the Sooners are a miserable 14-11 (9-7 Big XII) since beginning play against real competition. The Sooners did beat TCU on Tuesday in a nice midweek win.
Oklahoma leads the conference in batting average (.307 in conference, .334 overall) and have shown considerably more power than the Longhorns so far. 3B Garrett Buechele leads the way offensively, hitting .395 with seven homers on the year. On the mound, Michael Rocha has been nearly Jungmann-esque for the Sooners but there's a sharp drop off in talent beyond that.
First pitch tonight is at 6 PM, tomorrow's first pitch is at 11:30 AM on FSN, and Sunday's game will be on ESPNU at 1 PM.
