Texas fell behind against Texas A&M for the second straight night on Friday, but superior defense and pitching combined with timely offense led to another game and series win over the Aggies. Kevin Lusson has had a generally forgettable season, but in the bottom of the 6th he came up and delivered with a critical two-out two-run single that tied the game at four. Hoby Milner picked up the win with an extremely solid 2.2 innings of relief following a solid if unspectacular start by Cole Green (5.2 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 7 K) and Corey Knebel got the final two outs for his 16th save on the year.
With the win, the Horns win their 10th straight series over the Ags, secured the #1 seed in the Big XII tourney starting on Wednesday and clinched a share of the Big XII crown. A win tomorrow will end the Big XII race with Texas on top by a gain, but regardless the Horns are Big XII champs and showed their dominance over the poor Aggies.
The series concludes tomorrow night at 6 PM, but the Horns can light the tower orange tonight!
