You know about the Longhorn Network's impending launch, but there's a ton of good stuff to review from Longhorns HQ right now:
Friday, 6 p.m. Longhorn Network Launch Event
The Longhorn Network will officially launch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening, with a special event on the South Mall. ESPN's College Game Day crew featuring Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Erin Andrews will be on hand, as will Mack Brown, Bevo, and the distant wailing of victimized agrarians. Should be a fun event to launch what is shaping up to be the most exciting -- or at least interesting -- season of the Mack Brown era since 2005.
Shuttle service for Longhorns home football games
UT is now offering shuttle service to and from football games, with two pick up and drop off locations: Barton Creek Mall and the Intramural Fields. The Barton Creek Mall route drops off and picks up at the corner of University Ave. and 21st St. The Intramural Fields route drops off and picks up at the corner of Dean Keeton and San Jacinto. Cost of the "Longhorns Express" will be $9.
Volleyball tickets vs Pepperdine on sale for $3
The Gregory Gazelles open their 2011 season at home on Friday night versus Pepperdine. Tickets are available for $3 online right now. If you haven't been to a volleyball game at Gregory, they're exceptionally raucous and exciting. Well worth it. The match will also be the first sporting event to be televised on the Longhorn Network.
Football mini-plans available for Rice, Kansas, and Kansas State
A limited number of "mini-plans" for football games against Rice, Kansas, and Kansas State are available online for $150 right now. Great way for non-season ticket holders to see the Horns live for a reasonable cost.
