Everyone learns their fate at 5:00 p.m. CT on CBS, when the 2012 NCAA Tournament field will be announced. For the first time in the Rick Barnes era, Texas will be waiting to hear its name called, rather than waiting to hear what seed that they get. Squarely on the Bubble for the last month of the season, Texas is slotted in the field in virtually all projected brackets. ESPN has us in as an 11 seed, while SB Nation projects us as a 12.

This would make 14 straight seasons that Texas has made the NCAA Tournament, one of just six schools with an active streak that long (Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Duke, Kansas).
