Texas Takes on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

The Islanders come to town tonight to face a Texas squad that will play 12 of its next 13 games in the friendly confines of UFCUDFF after having played just 2 of its last 14 there. Dillon Peters will be on the mound for Texas making his fourth start after settling into a stopper role in the weekend bullpen. Look for John Curtiss and Parker French to get some work as well as the Horns look to continue their offensive hot streak.

The Islanders have struggled offensively with a .232 team batting average putting them 280th out of 291 teams nationally (the Horns are a downright respectable 127th). Their 3.94 team ERA is nice but that number jumps to a whopping 6.08 on the road (kudos to the TAMUCC website for giving us college baseball splits!). TAMUCC is "led" by former Texas Longhorn Bobby Buckner (yup, son of Bill Buckner), whose .300 batting average in 30 plate appearances leads the team by 23 points.

Join us here for the open thread. Game time is 6 PM and the game will be on the Longhorn Network.
