When 2013 Alief Taylor defensive end Torrodney Prevot spoke with Blake Munroe of Hookem.com recently, it sounded like a commitment from the Houston-area star was pending in the next several weeks.
Just a short time ago, the plan was to visit Austin unofficially before making a trip to Texas A&M for the Aggie spring game, then deciding.
Those plans appeared to change on Tuesday:
Im thinking about pushing my commitment date back.

So, whats the new plan for the 6-4, 205-pounder?
I think like close to or in October.

Until Prevot speaks with the services about the change in his timetable, it's not clear why he's decided to (tentatively) push back his decision by several months, though the timing of his planned decision could indicate a desire to take official visits in the fall.
Since there aren't any other defensive end targets in whom Texas is showing serious interest, there isn't any particular pressure for Prevot to commit unless the Longhorns land a flurry of pledges at other positions to start stretching the number of overall slots seriously thin. Until then, since Prevot seems to have a committable offer currently, the assumption is that he has a spot.
